I thought it had a lot to do with intent and intensity. If e rams into the kicker or looks like he's going for the kicker and not the ball it's roughing, but if he just taps or knocks into the kicker accidentally then it's running-into.

But that must not be right because by that the last penalty would have been running-into.

yes ... not pulling the offense (an offense who completely collapsed int he second half last week) after being up 30+ points, very well could be a statement to the team to finish games and not screw the pooch.

they already explained. If the kicker is up in the air then it is roughing because they are defenseless. Our kicker was on his way back down but hadn't touched down yet. so they got a roughing penalty.


if' he's still on the ground, or back on the ground after the kick, it's running into and a 5 yard penalty
