I was there and thought we looked like a team that had just grinded it out for 65+ minutes against a tough opponent the night before.

It wasn't the worst effort I've seen, but we lacked the jump to make that one extra move necessary to keep ourselves in it. I thought the Staal goal was going to spark a run, but that went out the window fast.

I thought the same thing last year, and they surprised the hell out of me starting in January. Admittedly, we had way more experience, and were really playing to the level we should've been at the entire game, but it was still a big turn around.

What's problematic is that usually we can count on Staal turning on his game from January on, which helps us go on those runs. There's nothing for him to turn on right now, because he is playing quite possibly the best hockey of his career already, and we still aren't winning.

One of the biggest issues the team has right now is that Sutter and Ruutu aren't scoring. If they're going to be our 2nd and 3rd line centers then they need to produce so it isn't all on Staal's line. Staal is playing crazy good right now and not getting any offensive help throughout the lineup.

Well, it's a buy one, get one free ticket night, so I'm guessing there'll be a pretty big crowd.

The Avs don't have as national a fan base as one of the big bandwagons (Pens/Caps), but they've been doing pretty well so far this season (13-9-2), so who knows.

The Avs fans were pretty miserable when I went to the Avs/Flames game a month ago.... there were actually a lot of dweebs calling the refs Zebras. They were also blaming CO's somewhat boring style of hockey on the refs.....

Point being, it's not the Roy, Forsberg, Sakic, Borque, Hejduk, Tanguay, Drury show anymore.
