I'm talking about the situation where we took a 3 ptr, it rattled around and the Syracuse player tipped it towards the basket and it looked like it was about to roll in when Leslie tapped it and got called for goaltending.
I seriously don't know what the ruling would be there. Its not often the opposing team knocks the ball into the wrong basket. 12/4/2010 8:35:32 PM |

if the ball comes out of the cylinder and gets tipped back in, it's 2 points.
regardless of where the ball was shot from. do you think it'd be worth 1 if it were on a free throw?

now if the defender ran from downcourt and took off from behind the 3 point line, and then tipped in our 2-pointer, that would be 3 points

Depends on what the rules are. I could see logically where it would just be 1 pt on a free throw. I ask because it rarely comes up and I don't know the rules in that situation. No need to be a douchebag.

I think it gets ruled as a tip-in just like if an offensive player tips it in. Then I think the points going to the closest offensive player. However, if the tip-in was goaltending, then I think it would be three points to the shooter. 12/4/2010 8:50:13 PM |

It's all good. I guess the misguided logic I was using was that the defensive player became a neutral object on that end of the floor (like the backboard). 12/4/2010 8:52:22 PM |

State played a hell of a game came down to the end and lost. Foul trouble on Painter in the second half and Wood losing his shooting touch (gassed played most of the game) were the two biggest contributers to me. Oh and Leslie played a pretty damn good game 11 rebounds!

Oh, and we out rebounded them.
Most impressive to me was Leslie's attitude adjustment and energy in rebounding. I didn't see any of that "bad body language" he seemed to have in previous games. 12/4/2010 8:58:59 PM |

The end of the game was uglu and that's a game I felt like we shouldve won, but we fought hard against a top 10 team and rebounded from the Wisconsin game very well. I can't wait to see what this team looks like when Tracy Smith is back in the post. CJ Leslie finally looked like he was getting his legs under him too. 12/4/2010 9:27:05 PM |

this killed us. we seemed to get very comfortable passing around the outside and jacking up 3's. The last good possession was javi with the curl and hitting the jump shot. Since then, it seemed like they slowed down the pace and the energy level just wasn't there.
Really good effort overall though, don't think any of us expected to have a chance to tie w/ 20 seconds left.12/4/2010 10:28:46 PM |

A much better performance by the players and coaches. I admit, I was a little worried after the Wisconsin game, but I feel much better now. As our team continues to gel, the reshmen gain confidence, and of course, tracy comes back, i think the team will continue to improve going into ACC play.
But after reading this and the Sid thread, all i can say is.... i think Packboozie might actually be a little retarded. I mean, wow. But its not his fault. 12/5/2010 10:00:33 AM |

^ Dammit now you made me feel bad for calling him out. So I looked at the box score for yesterday and saw that Wood played 39 minutes. I am really hoping that once Smith is back it will shift things around so that Leslie can steal a couple minutes at the 3 and Wood will get some rest. I don't want him fading down the stretch because he is worn down. 12/5/2010 10:26:05 AM |

just watched the syracuse game.
yes, it was annoying not being able to score at the end of the game to close it out, but we looked pretty good against a team that plays one of the best team defenses in the country.
our turnovers were self-induced mostly but that's a lot due to youth and spastic-ness on the part of some. Carrier Dome is also a tough place to play.
The freshmen are coming along nicely, and Painter and Vandy looked like different players, my favorite play was when Leslie blocked the dunk and got a foul. We haven't had that kind of defensive intensity for a long time. I hope that rubs off onto our big guys especially Vandy and Howell; Vandy can't have touch fouls and 3pt plays, he's gotta own the paint. 12/6/2010 3:42:08 PM |

24th in the country last year in attendance. Numbers are hard to find. We were 17, 16, 18, 24 in Sid's first 4 years but that is just in comparison to the NCAA. Pointless argument really it matters how many actually go and use them. Too many companies own the seats in the lower level on the sides and they stay empty. This is a huge problem that I don't see at Dean Dome, Rupp, etc.

AND IF YOU CAN READ YOU WILL SEE THAT BY NOVEMBER 12th SEASON TICKET SALES HAD EXCEEDED THE PREVIOUS YEARS TOTAL. You will also see that none of the smaller packages had gone on sale yet this was strictly season ticket totals they refer to them as packages because lower and upper level are priced differently
