I think it beats a rope pull down. I have small arms though so dont take my word for it.

thanks, I like both of those.

I may try a muscle-up at some point on a Saturday morning when there's like 2 people in the gym, don't want to embarass myself too badly

P90X stuff will destroy your tris if you put in the work.

really all you need to do to grow the triceps is 1 set of ~7 reps ending at failure. Stretch. Go home and eat. Any tricep exercise could suffice. If you can do another "set" or exercise you didn't go to failure. FAIL

Close grip bench press or the aforementioned DB extension.

There's really no penalty for failure and it's not really embarassing if you do fail.

Like, you're not going to land on your face.

i've got my shirt caught in those tri grip pull up handles while doing muscle ups, once so bad my sister had to monkey up and unhook me, else if I fell it'd rip my shirt right off, not like that would be a bad thing

Been averaging 35 to 45 miles per week. Will prob hit 500 mileage by week 12. Woo hoo! Was supposed to run two races today, but bailed to watch a pro tennis tournament. So race schedule is bad so far this year.

And def hear ya on the early morning weigh-ins and myspace abs. what else makes abs more defined in pics? A tan? Certain poses or clothing?

Administered a PFT today. I ran to the halfway point so that the poolees would know where to turn around.

I wasn't really trying hard or anything and ran the 1.5 miles in 10 minutes flat. So, I know that I am still in good PFT shape if I wasn't even really pushing at all and still ran 1.5 miles that fast.

so i gave up the low carb and joined ww instead. idk whether to feel bad about not being able to stick with it or not, but it just wasn't for me and I was starting to get miserable and cheat even though it was working :/

on a plus note, i've added weights to my routine now. Idk why I was so afraid of weight machine before. I was convinced I was going to hurt myself but they're pretty easy

^ ddk, don't worry about the diet thing. Low-carb doesn't work for all lifestyles. And the best way to eat healthy is to just stick with something that fits your lifestyle. I really like the concept of WW bc it stresses moderation. I love healthy carbs, particularly before running.

It's silly to comepletely deprive yourself. Moderation is key.

So, my knee still feels strange. I'm going to start using a knee brace when I run. It's one of the stretchy cloth kinds. It definitely feels better walking around with it on.

^ amen to that! This weather rocks. Too nice to stay indoors. Sooooo ready for spring to arrive. Spent all morning outside at a tennis tournament in Delray. Then came home, ran 7 miles outside and am now relaxing by the pool with a Corona Light. Yay for sunshine and carb-loading! Haha.

debating whether or not to take pics and seriously get in on this challenge. i'm almost to my goal weight but i'd like to get toned and whatnot. i'm afraid i'll get bogged down with school though and just get super depressed if i don't end up reaching any of my goals before the bathing suit weather hits. excuses excuses

Jalapeño chips sound so good. Too bad my stomach is wrecked after my run from yesterday. It's soup and mild foods for me until I feel better.

Well I think I'm going to have to join the thread. I'll have to weigh myself tomorrow. I need some sort of motivation to get active again and lose weight. Unfortunately I've let myself go a little bit since I've been home after graduation. Hopefully this thread will help me out and I can get back in shape.

Let's do thisssssss!

This weekend was great, but now I am worn the hell out. I ran 16 miles on Saturday, with part of the run being a hill climb that I had biked earlier in the week, and then today I biked 60 miles on the PCH. Got caught in the rain a few times and then my friend got run off the road by an SUV right at our turnaround point, but overall still good times. Now I feel like my right patella is about to fall off and my legs feel spacey just sitting in my chair, but the rest of me feels like a boss.

I would be quite satisfied if it weren't for the fact that I've got to do work tonight and clean up the kitchen.

Not trying to be mean...just inquisitive/honest...

At H8R....your chest seems to be disproportionally smaller than the rest of your body...which looks to be in great shape (although it could be the picture/angle). Do you not work out your chest as much as the rest of your body?? Your arms look great btw.
