So my league has a really jacked up scoring system that give extra points to things like 40+ yd pass completions and TDs and big negatives for a pick 6. Thanks to that system, I lost by 10 pts when my opponent's QB Romo (342, 2 Tds, 1 Int, 1 fumble) outscored my QB Stafford (305 yds, 3 Tds, 1 pick 6 Int) by 20 pts. WTF? Oh well I'm sure they'll be weeks that the system helps me too.

So a guy in my league who loves to chase last weeks points just dropped Jermichael Finley and Owen Daniels...I have Dallas Clark currently, whom I dont plan to drop, but obviously need to pick up another (especially considering the outlook for the Colts)...Is Finley definitely the better of the two?

^Yes...I'd go Finley

I'm in 3 leagues. Brady has 37 and 34 in 2 of the leagues and then 54.7 in the other. didn't realize the scoring was that qb friendly in my third league.

I think Finley is getting closer to Gates status in fantasy terms, esp. with Rodgers throwing to him

so IMO, Finley over Clark

finley, if he stays healthy, is a beast, and IMO the best TE in the league. The only thing that detracts from him is that he is on a team that has sooooo many targets. i'd grab him!

Janikowski had a 63-yarder, that's good for 6.

Reggie Bush scored 14 against a very good NE defense. I think I'll keep him over Tolbert.

Tom Brady had 36 in my league.

If you are in leagues where people are dropping Finley and Tolbert, don't even bother posting up here. The people in your leagues are stupid and rational advice does not apply.

This thread is only needed for competitive leagues.

At point do you guys start exploring trade options. I know it is only Week 2, but I am already 0-1, and this year has pretty much the same feel as last year (loved the team I drafted, but it seemed like I always played the weekly high scorer and ended up finishing 4th in my league), and I am projected to lose by 20 this week.

My team is (12 team league 6 pts for pass TDs):

QB
Big Ben
Josh Freeman

RB
Adrian Peterson
Frank Gore
Ryan Matthews
Jonathan Stewart

WR
Hakeem Nicks
Desean Jackson
Dez Bryant
Steve Smith(car)
Jordy Nelson

TE
Jimmy Graham

K
Janikowski

D/ST
Chargers (leaning towards playing weekly matchups)

Not meant to be a panic question, just spurring discussion.

I think you're team looks incredibly solid for a 12 man league. You're lacking a stud QB, but with the rest of your starters, I think Big Ben & Josh Freeman will be solid.

I always think it takes until about week 4 to figure out which WRs are worth a damn.

Was pretty even with my opponent in my 16-team money league (up by 4 pts) prior to the Monday night games. He had Green-Ellis and Janikowski, I had Hernandez and McFadden left. Wasn't worried about the matchup going in, but sure was nice that both players got their fair share of points!

With that said, my QB situation is hurting (Bradford/Collins). Drop Collins for Grossman? I have #1 waiver wire priority, but I don't want to burn it until I come across a player I'm absolutely sure will help me.

I have Moore on my bench. If he comes back this week (groin injury), I would think he would get some targets for sure with Colston out. As for Williams, I'm just not sold on the guy. Of course this all depends on who you decide to drop, and who else is available to pick up.

I'm picking up Cam Newton as a backup to replace Matt Cassel. I know the first week was a fluke but he only has to do well during my starter's bye week (week 5), which is against the Saints.

I wouldn't talk shit if you don't know your shit. Tolbert ran 12 times for only 35 yards and 1 TD. His other scores were due to the Chargers playing from behind and good secondary coverage and dropped passes by Floyd. He had a hot hand so they kept feeding him the ball. Playing defense when you're ahead you let the underneath passes go... hence why Tolbert had so many points from receiving over rushing. Hey points are points, I'm not saying he's not worth keeping, but whereas Reggie Bush can put up 14-15 points on a weekly basis due to the same rushing/receiving plays that Tolbert gets... I think they're pretty comparable over the course of the season. So don't come in here on your high horse because you think that sorting by stats on ESPN's website gives you some superior knowledge of how a player will play the rest of the year. I'm not hating, Tolbert was a top 20 back last year as Ryan Matthews backup, and I presume he'll do the same this year. I just can't have a back like Tolbert that fluctuates from 5 points to 25 points each week, I'd rather have a consistent 15+. I guarantee you he'll be a waiver wire pickup this week. I'm in a 10-person league and we can only have a max of 3 RB's. I have Arian Foster & Darren McFadden, at best Reggie Bush or Mike Tolbert would be a flex play for me anyways. But Reggie Bush has the backfield to HIMSELF.

Quote :

True, I guess I should have prefaced that with "historically", you gotta consider the lock-out changed a lot of things and with little to no time to research, the early weeks will be surprising as teams start to figure each other out. I wouldn't say weeks 1-3 will be good indications of how teams will do down the stretch. I mean I think the Steelers defense is good, but they got handed to by the Ravens.

Anyhow, down to my question.

I trade:
Matthew Stafford & Santonio Holmes
For:
Joe Flacco & Hakeem Nicks

I need a better WR2/FLEX receiver and I have Philip Rivers as my QB1... I also have Lance Moore & Ochocinco to trade as WR, but thought this was a pretty decent/fair trade for both of us. He has Eli & Flacco, personally I'd rather have Flacco, but could get Eli if that would be better.

KC looks like the worst team in the leauge right now, and I think Pitt will try to run on seattle as much as possible.

I'd start Stafford but it's a toss up.

@Prospero, Didn't Nicks get injured?
