seriously though, Blake's 3 didn't lose the game for the Lakers, it was the defensive meltdown over the last couple minutes

Yes. In 6, possibly 5 games.
Anybody remember first round series game 7 against Nuggets where Blake was like 5 of 5 from 3 point land??? He's had a rough couple first games in this series, but he's shooting well overall this postseason and not bad for the year from 3pt land. And Kobe hasn't hit a game winner in a long time, was having a pretty shitty game, and was blanketed.
Not a bad call. Blake needs to hit that.5/17/2012 7:22:50 AM |

Miami going into Indiana with two players capable of scoring more than 5 points (last game). Lebron and Wade will need to drop 60 to win. Neutron bomb on Indiana -1? 5/17/2012 4:40:36 PM |

Geez of all the games to miss. I looked at the box score and saw Kobe was terrible, but i had no idea until i read an article just how bad he truly goated the game.
Oh well, there will be more games like this ahead over the next few years.
Guy is making about double what Lebron makes. The Lakers should use their amnesty clause on Kobe this offseason if they want any hopes of contending in the next few years. 5/17/2012 7:38:49 PM |

If the Heat lose this series Lebron will never hear the end of it even though his teammates are having a total meltdown.
When are they going to learn they need a big man. Hibbert is just destroying them. They had plenty of options like Dalembert this past offseason.

Wade is the biggest punk in the NBA. Even Kobe knows how to take a subpar coach getting in his face and handle it professionally. Wade sat on the end of the bench and didn't even make eye contact with the coach during a timeout. (THIS IS WHILE HES IN THE GAME DOWN DOUBLE DIGITS SECOND HALF OF A PLAYOFF GAME). 5/17/2012 8:55:49 PM |

Hadn't watched granger very closely before this series but I've learned he is quite the dumbass. Yes his elbow went up but what do you expect when you are on the verge of causing a wardrobe malfunction. Maybe he is just trying to get in his head. 5/17/2012 8:59:51 PM |

Heat are wasting a monster game from Chalmers. I don't know if Lebron is just tired but his jumper looks off and he's settling instead of going to the basket. 5/17/2012 9:20:57 PM |

This two day rest is HUGE for the heat. They are dead in the water and Indiana is wising game four was tomorrow. Its a shame staples center armagedeon has had an affect on the whole playoffs. Old tired lakers have to play fresh young thunder back to back to potentially get swept while young pacers have to wait an extra day to play tired lebron and wade on life support. 5/17/2012 9:24:06 PM |

Still a long way to go in this series, but you have to think the Heat are in a fair bit of trouble with no Bosh. Indiana is a lot more impressive team 1-10 than I realized. They can and should still win the series but Wade absolutely NEEDS to break out. He wasn't good in games one and two and was flat out the worst player on the court tonight. Lots of pressure but I do like seeing Lebron stepping up and being a sort of leader. See how it transpires on Sunday, but I'd be Lebron has a HUGE game. 5/17/2012 9:42:57 PM |
The E Man Suspended 15268 Posts user info edit post |
two players scoring 30 isn't enough. No matter what Wade and Lebron do they still won't win without a 3rd stepup. Chalmers will have to have a game like tonight with both stars playing well for them to win. Either that or one of the 3pt shooters coming back from the dead.

8 turnovers is a lot for anyone, but if you had watched Game 1 i don't know how its some huge surprise
this series is extremely lopsided, and its not like his matchup Tony Parker is some scrub
His playoff turnover totals before tonight were 4, 5, 3, 2, 3, 3, 5, 5...he was at his regular season average 12.5% of his playoff games, whoopty do
He averaged nearly 4 turnovers per game this playoffs before tonight, so unless you don't think the intensity picks up from the regular season to the playoffs, its not a shock the Spurs have had their way
might as well cite Boris Diaw's regular season stats and say you're completely surprised he's able to thrive as a role player on a championship caliber team, compared to a big-minute guy on the fucking Bobcats] 5/18/2012 1:37:42 AM |

I would like to see the free-throw breakdown during the last 5 minutes of that game.
**** Found it: 5 Minute mark: 86-83, Thunder
Lakers 41-42 from the line (18 attempts in the 4th -- 8 of those in the last 5:00 min) Thunder 26-28 from the line (10 attempts in the 4th -- 2 of those in the last 5:00 min)
Harden got two horrible off-the-ball calls on Kobe though late in the game.

The foul on Harden coming down the floor was total crap. There is no defense for Kobe if he catches in the medium elbow area so the rest of the fouls were just on Harden denying him the position too physically. Everytime they allowed Kobe to catch it there he drained it or got fouled in the act of shooting.
Perkins set moving screens all night btw. 5/19/2012 1:49:54 AM |
