Start building the statue. Lol at anyone that thinks he isn't the best player in the league.
2/13/2016 2:09:55 PM
Balling today. Still think they will give POY to Brice Johnson or Brogden, but Cat deserves it for all he's done to keep State in games.
2/13/2016 3:20:41 PM
He is so gone
2/13/2016 3:41:55 PM
^^i think the last couple of weeks barber is gaining plenty of steam of ACCPOYalso, last 7 games. 30.1 ppg, 52.3% FG. that's unreal
2/13/2016 4:10:43 PM
was Cat the first player for us to score 30 in a half since DT did it in the first half on the way to 57 points against Buffalo State? Buffalo State also finished with 88 points in that game like Wake did today. State finished with 144 points though lol.[Edited on February 13, 2016 at 5:20 PM. Reason : .]
2/13/2016 5:18:22 PM
So mad he didn't try for 40. Another 30 pt game sounds great, but a 40 pt game sounds even better!
2/13/2016 10:00:13 PM
You are the man Cat. It seemed like he had several in and out shots today that could have made his total even more.
2/13/2016 10:26:00 PM
Great for him but this really is the worst case scenario from this season.
2/13/2016 10:27:18 PM
^ true. Pretty much guaranteed he is gone. Had he played like a little bitch like Paige did last year, then we may have gotten a 4th year for Cat. Sucks that our team is such garbage.

POY locked up son. GG

Cat Barber got mentioned in the video for being one of the four players nominated for Capital One Performance of the Week videos. None of the other players broke into the 30 point range. Andy Katz said Tyler Ulis should get it, then said, "Sorry Mark Gottfried, but I don't see how Cat Barber can be ACC Player of the Year when you are down at the bottom of the standings." Hey Andy Katz go tell that to Erick Green! Vote for Cat. Poll skew time.http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/index?page=caponecup
2/14/2016 1:24:05 PM
Barber with 4% of the vote...
2/14/2016 1:28:21 PM
Gotta change that. Someone post it on Pack Pride please.
2/14/2016 1:29:47 PM
I have to be honest I had no idea who this guy was but his stats seem solid
2/14/2016 2:07:56 PM
I hadn't heard of this poor girl Peyton raped until today but her story seems solid.
2/14/2016 2:18:20 PM
Says we beat WF 99-44...
2/14/2016 2:29:33 PM
^^ that makes no sense
2/14/2016 4:18:41 PM
Real classy by Tennessee U to give her the boot. But honestly would you really expect anything else from a podunk backwards school in that state?
2/14/2016 9:59:44 PM
It's nice that you just called the school podunk and backwards imo
2/14/2016 11:40:08 PM
down to 2%. come on people....show your appreciate!

Good try tonight Cat, too bad they were double teaming you up top most of the whole game and we couldn't make them pay.
2/15/2016 10:22:26 PM
Can't be Superman every game. He had some shitty turnovers and missed wide open jumpers in the first half. We could have been up double digits at the break if he was playing average. Definitely hurts his POY chances...his two biggest clunkers have been against the two best teams in the league.
2/16/2016 7:20:00 AM
Uva is also one of the 2 best defensive teams in the league and they guarded cat with the probable DPOY
2/16/2016 10:40:55 AM
RIP POY chances.
2/16/2016 2:36:53 PM
Disclaimer: This is going to piss a lot of people off because i piss myself off just by thinking about it but it must be considered. We had a choice between a pg who was mostly a scorer and a pg who was mostly a creator and chose the scoring pg. Its turned out great because we got more than what we wanted. We wanted a good scoring pg and got an elite scoring point guard. In terms of the choice we made and the reasons we made the choice, things could not have turned out better. We didn't want a pg who was not good at scoring but was create-first. Now, when we look at our team, we have the best scorer in the league and one of the best scorers in the whole country, but he doesn't really make anyone else better and the team is as bad as it could be overall. I would much rather have a team led by a pg who isn't a good scorer, but runs an offense that spreads the scoring around and makes everyone better instead of relying on one guy and mostly an isolation offense. I know its easy and angries people to talk about things in hindsight, but it seems our priorities being more around having an offense centered around individual scoring has lead to us producing teams where we have one or 2 exceptional isolation players and other players don't seem to be engaged as much as they should be.[Edited on February 26, 2016 at 2:43 PM. we'd really suck if lewis was running the point.(and that's nothing against tyler)[Edited on February 26, 2016 at 2:44 PM. Reason : ]
2/26/2016 2:44:28 PM
The first rule cardinal sin of Sports talkMods should ban people responding to this douche
2/26/2016 2:54:22 PM
Maybe we would suck either way. I just wanted to talk about the general idea of a scoring point guard vs creating point guard and not focus so much on lewis specifically. Lewis is just an example of what we don't value. We should be able to have a mature discussion about that. No one can know how we would be but one would expect a true point guard whose distribution skills are equivalent to cat's scoring skills to help everyone else develop their own scoring ability, comfort in the offense, and overall engagement in the game. Maybe we would be worse, maybe we would be better, or maybe we would be the same, maybe the team would have different players all together. I'm not concluding on anything because we don't have enough information. I just want to have the discussion. Thats what forums should be about.
2/26/2016 3:02:37 PM
well, gottfried doesn't want a PG who can't be a major offensive factor. he's made that clear, so this discussion is stupid.
2/26/2016 3:38:14 PM
Thats actually the premise of the discussion. Are you incapable of discussing alternatives to reality?
2/26/2016 3:40:50 PM
yes
2/26/2016 3:41:17 PM
I wonder how good our team would be if lennard never injured his leg and he was 8 feet tall but just as mobile?
2/26/2016 3:51:33 PM
2/26/2016 5:52:11 PM
We need a legit pass-first PG, like Steph Curry or Russell Westbrook.
2/26/2016 6:39:15 PM
Cat generates plenty of open looks, guys just can't make them If we had Lewis instead of Cat, we would be BC bad. With Cat we are a below avg team that has also had some bad bounces. Also if I remember, Lewis made Cat look like a defensive star
2/26/2016 7:25:43 PM
Rowan plays better defense than Lewis
2/26/2016 8:14:41 PM
It'd be pretty cool to have both of them, I think..[Edited on February 26, 2016 at 8:45 PM. Reason : Lewis and Cat, at the same time]
2/26/2016 8:45:06 PM
2/27/2016 2:19:25 PM
I think Barber's recent struggles will cost him acc POY. He should still make first team but I am sure Brice Johnson will win Player of the Year. Grayson Allen probably eliminated himself due to trippings.
2/28/2016 8:28:07 AM
^ Brogdon is probably the favorite right now. If UVA finishes with be best record, I think he's a lock to get it. Brice and Allen are right there too. Cat is pretty much out of the conversation now.
2/28/2016 8:39:11 AM
Selfishly I hope that wasn't Cat's last regular season game, although I can't blame the man if he wants to go make some money. Cat looked great yesterday, as with most of the season giving me a reason to watch.
