even without the dempsey goal and the altadore injury, ghana's played better.

this as an outside observer (generally not a soccer fan)

more possession for ghana, average ball location has been on our side of the field, we aren't controlling it that well. ghana has been much more aggressive AND under more control... i worry about our chances of this game ending in our favor.

The losing team generally dominates possession

We are sinking in because we want to break up play and not let Ghana get in the open field and break on us. Then, we can counter them when they over commit.

yeah i get that and understand it, but two things:

1. when we DO have the ball, there seems to be little control and it's very sloppy
2. i thought klinsman was trying to change all that and makes us more of a direct attacking team

This game feels like almost every USA-Mexico game from the last 10 years. Mexico dominate possession and gameplay but are incapable of putting the ball in the back of the net, and the USA win.

Losing Jozy midgame completely changed the way we played. He may not be the most technically sound player but he holds up possession in a way we desperately needed, especially with Bradley puking.
