there is absolutely no chance we wouldnt renew the scholarship of a starting linebacker for his senior year.

dowdy wasnt a great player so it's possible he was told he wasnt guaranteed the starting job next season and he bolted as a result but it's much more likely he left for non-team reasons

Yeah, Dowdy wasn't anything special. He was decent when he blitzed but struggled in space. Just too slow to cover anyone in the open field.

Still, sucks he couldn't finish out his career here.

espn did recruiting grades in the ACC, we finished 13 of 14 with a C-, one ahead of syracuse. Considering how much work that Doeren has put in and the guys he has landed, this shows how shitty TOB was this past year
