^That's precisely what the conservatives opposed to that outline want to do (notice how often Krieger, for example, disagrees with what he finds in it despite conceding that it's "historically true" just because it doesn't fit his jingoistic narrative)...and keep in mind these are all students who are trying to test out of a college class in the subject (not kids who regularly learn oversimplifications and then might get the full story during high school), so this fits in with their broader agenda against academia (like those "Academic Freedom" bills that are about precisely the opposite).

LOL at all of the Germans blowing up the comment section with their corrections and complaints. They tend to be a little intolerant when it comes to foreigners and accents.

That being said, there is a big difference between speaking into a camera and communicating with a native speaker in their mother tongue. For example, whenever these polyglot videos surface, there are always immediate errors that jump out at me when they switch into German that would prolly make most Germans a little agitated. The issue here is that these people are more than likely just reading from a prepared script over the course of several takes, and thus they may not be really fluently using the language. I find it more impressive when people can speak one or two foreign languages completely fluently than just speaking a couple sentences here and there and switching to the next language.

I dunno, just my two cents, but I would prefer speaking two or even just one foreign language fluently than being "adequate" in 15 or so. Especially considering that when you are American and your second language is not able to sustain an extended conversation, people will more than likely prefer to just switch to English because quite frequently people in the non-English speaking world are absolutely required to learn English.
