And you guys are probably reading the same thing I am reading. Apparently if your contract ends anytime in 2010, they will give you the special price. They go on sale on June 24th. (earlier than I thought) 6/7/2010 2:44:02 PM |

Yeah and they didn't want to give us the choice to do what we liked with the phones we paid for. So you either have to jailbreak or switch to another platform. 6/7/2010 2:48:06 PM |

so...any thoughts on how much HD vid recording you can get on a 16GB? I don't keep many songs on my iphone and have plenty of space on my current 8GB. I'd rather save 100 bucks over the 32GB if I can...

You'll probably pay the full price.
This is why I didnt jump last year. I have had the 3G for almost 2 years, and last year saw very little improvement to make it worth upgrading.
This, on the other hand, is a huge upgrade from a 3G.
^ probably a couple of hours? I would probably go to the Flip video site, and compare the record time and their storage capacity for a good comparison. they are probably going to be equal or about the same.

^^yeah, you're right. I guess buying new hardware doesn't really qualify as a new customer for AT&T.
It's like everyone is forgetting what happened last year. all the people that bought launch 3G's were so pissed they didn't qualify to get a new 3GS and they bitched up a storm and AT&T eventually caved. They are just saving everyone the trouble of bitching this time around.
^Have you done the *new# thing recently? I checked last week and it said I wasn't eligible, but I checked again today and I am. They made a lot of changes this weekend supposedly.
I don't know why anyone that has a 3GS wouldn't upgrade. Wouldn't the cost of buying an iPhone4 be offset by the money you'd get for selling your 3GS on craigslist? That's what I'm planning on doing. The only thing that has me even a little bit reluctant to upgrade is the lack of a jailbreak. But I'm sure that won't take too awful long, and I have my iPad to tide me over until then.
Then again, I guess not everyone is iPhone4life.] 6/7/2010 3:36:15 PM |

Hmm, nice. Well, it's showing me 05/10/11 and I upgraded to a 3GS in September and pay $115/taxes for 2 iPhones. Guess it doesn't matter though, as with the new cancellation fees, you might as well just buy it outright. Or: 1. buy iphone. 2. sell iphone & buy cheaper unlocked phone. 3. ?? 4. Profit
& yeah, I already sold my brand-new-condition 3GS for $425 on eBay. It was on a warranty exchange--could have gotten at least $100 more if I could have unlocked it. I also didn't know about the 21 day hold they have now though--fuckers.

I mean, the Incredible/EVO 4G are still awesome phones, even compared to iPhone 4. Froyo is still a helluva an OS. I just don't want to lock myself into another 2 years with AT&T/iPhone before I even have a chance to get out.

Facetime 720p video recording and editing App Store iTunes (you might not like iTunes as a service, but in terms of being able to rent movies/buy movies/tv shows/music etc directly from the phone) Overall hardware design (none of that cheap looking Motorola star-tach shit)
Not sure about the display, camera, etc because I don't know if the competition already has displays and cameras that are better.

ok i'll feed the troll. speaking for the evo,
4G data 8MP Camera on the back, 1.3MB on front Open Marketplace, can actually customize the OS SD Card Slot HDMI Out User replaceable battery Native furn by turn Flash support (obviously in 2.2, not 2.1) A freaking spectacular screen FM Radio camera flash/[really bright] flashlight one of those LEDs to let u know if you missed a call/email/text. plus you can change the settings pretty granularly more than one button.
and i've played with an evo for a bit...and it's solid as hell. doesn't feel cheap in the least bit.
