I really didn't think Thomas was that bad at all. His deep balls weren't dropping, but it was really windy that day. He was nailing all his short to intermediate throws.

Maybe Doeren just doesn't like the fact he's slow.

I think he really likes Thomas's arm, but he has made it known pretty publicly that he REALLY wants a mobile QB, and Pete isn't that.

I think he knows Pete is the best of the 2 options he has, but if he doesn't think Pete is a homerun, why not keep looking? I don't think either of these guys are the answer, but the QB/WR from Arkansas is at least interesting. Everyone knows Brissett is starting the following year barring some crazy injury or something off-field, but from what I've read it sounds like Pete is going to be the starter basically by default unless the freshman QB can come in and take the starting spot(will be given that chance based on Doeren's comments).

I think he was favoring State and Miami over a handful of other ACC offers, and decided to pull the trigger after Miami got it's second QB commitment in the class of 2014.
