Yeah I didn't mean to imply Register committed here or anything, just that it was pretty much down to us and Clemson.

Quote : | "High Point Central safety Germaine Pratt has verbally committed to N.C. State, the rising senior said Friday. Pratt chose the Wolfpack over North Carolina, Notre Dame, Wake Forest and East Carolina. Pratt made 80 tackles and six interceptions for the Bison last season. He was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 189 overall player in the Class of 2014 by Rivals.com. "I wanted to get recruiting out the way and stop worrying about where I would go and settle down somewhere," Pratt said. Pratt said he had a great connection with N.C. State defensive backs coach Clayton White. He made the decision Thursday afternoon. "He has good instincts to the football; he has a high football IQ," High Point Central head coach Wayne Jones said. "He's going to be a kid who plays the game hard." Pratt, who played last season at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, said staying close to home was also a big factor for him and his family. Jones and Pratt said N.C. State's coaches told him they may move him to outside linebacker once he gets to Raleigh. Pratt didn't have any preference for what position he would play in college, saying he would be willing to play anywhere in order to help the Wolfpack win. "I think I can be a great player. I can bring a lot of energy, make a lot of plays," Pratt said. "I think I can do a lot for them." Pratt earned all-conference honors at defensive back the past two seasons with the Bison. He is known for his big hits on the field, and he has also been solid in pass coverage. Pratt said N.C. State's coaches told him his speed and ability to tackle in space could make him very solid at outside linebacker. "N.C. State's always been one of the better programs in the state of North Carolina," Jones said. "They have a lot of kids in the NFL, and it's close to home. His family can watch him play." Pratt is rated at three stars by Scout.com and 247sports.com, two other leading recruiting websites. Pratt is also one of 400 nominees for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January 2014. Rickey Dowdy, who started for N.C. State last year at linebacker, also went to High Point Central. Dowdy transferred to Cumberland this offseason." |

Couple of articles on Tony Adams posted on PI forums. Seems like he has been turning heads and various combines/camps. Not sure where he'll end up ranked based on this(I'd say 3* at best), but not sure how I feel about him committing to the first big school to really offer him. One of the articles posted said he was favoring UNC at the time, but was hearing from UNC, NC State, and South Carolina. 6/10/2013 10:57:46 AM |

We have 10 commits from NC coming in this year. in 2012 we had 7. 2011 we had 8. 2010 we had 5.
I like that the new staff is focusing on Charlotte. 6/10/2013 11:11:08 AM |

Yea, I'm a little out of touch with high school football in North Carolina, but I know years ago when I was paying attention to it, Charlotte was a pretty big hot bed for talent. I hope that's still the case and we're making some inroads with teams/players in that area. 6/10/2013 11:22:48 AM |

Its my understanding that most of the good football in the state is in that 85 corridor there. Lot of good players coming out of Charlotte. Usually at least one really good team in Gboro. Winston and High Point have occasional good players. Thomasville and Lexington where powerhouses for years but I think they've dropped off a bit. 6/10/2013 11:46:29 AM |

^wow. That is one big-ass safety ... not sure I've ever seen a 6'4 safety. Even Adrian Wilson (who was HUGE) was only 6'3.
Not sure he'll have the speed/agility to play safety in college, but he could be an awesome center-fielder type of DB. If not, he could be a monster at OLB. 6/10/2013 5:39:29 PM |
