Someone should go through and figure out the ratio of confessions to people begging for confessions.

What are my troubles compared to what she went through. How can I do anything but try my hardest when she and my father went so far to give me an amazing childhood, without strife or struggle, especially now knowing just HOW deep the strife in her youth went. I've known people who were molested or abused as children, but this is my mother. I am angry and sad. Angry to find out on the side that not only has my hometown got a lineage of these guys (the second perp, his son is a Scoutmaster, and a known pedophile, or was until he died), but no one ever did anything, even though people heard things, knew things. At the same time I feel stupid to feel angry over something I'm not involved in, that I could never be involved in, and something my mother has long moved past. And I needed to tell someone. I feel selfish and stupid compared to my mother, who me and my brother have taken for granted on many, many occasions. I hope I can get out of this funk, she's already worried that telling me might have been bad. I'll be fine, I have no reason not to be, but it was still hard to hear. "
