Not to get back on the subject of Jack Johnson, but I'm seeing the same shit from this guy at this year's WJCs as last. He is a talented player, but just seems like a real jackass with his demeanor and repeated dirty hits. When I see that kind of crap I am almost relieved that we got rid of him.

The Flyers PR guy is keeping a blog about their road trip and had this nice comment about NC State today...

The bus pulls out of the team hotel at 10:00, for the pregame skate at the RBC Center. The Hurricanes are just heading out for their own skate when we get there, and take about an hour before the zamboni cleans the ice in preparation for the Flyers to go on. Obviously, the RBC Center is much nicer than the practice rink yesterday and the visiting locker room here is actually quite spacious. There are, however, a ridiculous amount of NC State banners hanging from the rafters. Why they feel the need to hang up a banner just because NC State happened to make the NCAA tournament I’m not quite sure. NC State lost in the first round in 1980 and 1982 but made the elite eight in 1985 and 1986. Just in case you were wondering.

Yeah that game really sucked. We had so many chances to put the puck into the net and it just wouldn't go in no matter what we did. We could have had a better game defensively and we just got some really bad bounces....

Neither of them actually saw it. The rule is written to punish carelessness with the stick (obviously the case here), which is why followthrough contact is allowed. Just because a guy is bleeding, you can't go back and call a penalty you missed.

yea if one of the referees (not linesmen) they would have called it for sure but, it wouldnt have made a difference the way the canes played tonight. With the exception of brindamour our best line cant play the entire game which is what it would have taken to win that game.
