Ok they just 'happened' to have a camera on Rivers when he said something to the guy in the stands. Media was waiting for that one.....the guy probably said something pretty bad I would think, and I think rivers said something like "Thank you buddy, be sure to watch us on TV next weekend". Course I have no idea what was said, but everytime they get up on Rivers and you can hear what he says, its something like that. I'm sure this will get blown out of proportion again...especially since the media's wet dream of a Colts/Patriots showdown won't happen. Even if Rivers did say something bad I wouldnt care cause he's taken shit all year and he played a hell of a game before getting hurt

Fans always give players the bird and do that shit, it is only going to get worse if he shows that it gets a reaction from him.

Some people are missing the point. Everyone knows there is trash talking in sports, but every year that goes by there is just more and more of it. As rivers becomes more and more of a figure in the league the cameras will be on him more. This guy just played the game of his life, lead his team to the conference championship, and the image that lingers is him yelling at the crowd. I just said it is a shame and it detracts from what he is doing.

It’s the latest instance of Rivers acting like a punk, and he needs to grow up if he plans to become a respected NFL quarterback. All too often, he has the demeanor of a spoiled-rotten 10-year-old who neither knows how to control his inner emotions, nor cares.

The sad part is that he’s becoming an excellent NFL quarterback, justifying the team’s decision to keep him instead of Drew Brees. But he’s also becoming the worst kind of asshole — a reckless asshole who makes no effort to temper his tantrums, or to pick his battles.

At a minimum, he deserves a fine for his interactions with the Indy fans. Catching abuse from the home team’s partisans goes with the territory. The players in every instance need to be the ones who defuse the situation by ignoring the things they hear, or by responding on the field.

MRI update on Rivers:

Strained MCL, questionable to play in the championship game. Norv said Volek will practice with the 1st stringers on Wed and Thurs.

It doesn't sound too good, but I'd be surprised if Rivers doesn't find a way to play.
