Nice to start the season with a win even if it was against a bad team at home.
The real test is if we can beat a struggling Miami team on the road. We've gotta start winning games like that before we even think about being a potential playoff team.
Just wanted to point out we will probably be the worst FT shooting team in the league. Okafor stinks, Wallace and Richardson stink, and Felton stinks for a guard. Those will be the four main guys getting to the line. 11/4/2007 1:33:37 PM |

richardson put it best when he said they slowed down and tried to play a halfcourt game, which isn't their style
and he's right, they looked completely inept during that stretch
but at least we're 2-0, even if it is against the bucks and a wade-less heat team 11/4/2007 8:40:15 PM |

Well bad or not we are 2-0. Finding ways to win games like this are key to making something of a season. Is Morrison done for the year? May is already done for the year. Nice pick once again Bobcats. 11/5/2007 12:07:26 AM |

wow, the optimism is great guys. obviously rally doesn't know what the shit he is talking about based on just about everything he has ever said, so....
We're 2-0. We've struggled in the fourth and on free throws, but that doesn't mean we can't fix those things. As for our "Center" woes, that will be harder to fix.
I say we win AT LEAST 40 games. 11/5/2007 9:13:04 AM |

You have to think Phoenix will stomp us, but Amare sat out the other night when his knee acted up. If he doesn't play tomorrow, it could be closer than you think. 11/5/2007 9:33:31 AM |

If Phoenix can't stomp us (w/ or w/out Amare), that team's got some splainen' to do.
seriously though, they are loaded and shouldn't have lost to the Lakers. 11/5/2007 9:38:45 AM |

i think Marion is playing like shit on purpose
I think there will be a ton of points scored in what will be a very fast paced game
the Suns can make a 16 point lead go away in a heartbeat so we cant screw around like we did with Miami and the Bucks 11/5/2007 10:20:18 AM |

Marion is playing right on line with his career averages

Our starting 5 can play with anybody (especially the 1-4 spots)
Seriously we would be 0-2 if we had last year's team...the bright spot about no Morrison and no May for the season is no Morrison and no May for the season...Morrison pretty much sucked last year...May played in like 30 games last year so we're not missing a lot
oh btw Brandan Wright has yet to play a single minute, whereas J-Rich is playing like an All Star 11/5/2007 1:14:00 PM |

We beat two of the worst teams in the league so let's not start sucking each others dicks yet.
I do like what I saw out of Hollins I think he could become a dependable backup center in the league.
Richardson/Wallace combo is nice, Okafor a beast as usual, and Felton is off to a nice start.
Other than that this team sucks nuts. Primoz is not only the worst starting center in the league he isn't probably one of the top 60 in the league. McInnis stinks. Hermann isn't getting minutes. Dudley may develop some but he looks pretty limited. Carroll isn't going to flourish without more minutes than he will get (again we should have signed Darko instead of Carroll).
As I said, we're a ~35-40 win team if we stay relatively healthy. Playoffs just seem to be a stretch, the East is deep this year and we lack experience, skill, talent, and black guys who don't suck. 11/5/2007 7:21:12 PM |

I've hated on Primoz ever since I first saw him introduce himself on C-SET.
Some math genius somewhere designed a formula indicating a players relative value on the court.
It's more complicated that the NFL QB rating formula, so I won't explain it. But here are the league positional averages.
- Point Guard: 0.132 - Shooting Guard: 0.128 - Small Forward: 0.152 - Power Forward: 0.215 - Center: 0.225
Here are the Bobcats averages
Richardson: 0.194 Felton: 0.208 Wallace: 0.198 Okafor: 0.355 McInnis: 0.063 Hollins: 0.267 Carroll: 0.019 Dudley: 0.208 Brezec: -0.119 Hermann: .100

honestly, isn't having really good players at 1-4 enough to at least make the playoffs in the east? so what if the backups aren't stellar, they aren't stellar many other places either.....that why they're backups. i'll be disappointed if we don't get at least 45 wins this season 11/5/2007 8:28:34 PM |

name 8 teams in the east with better starting lineups...i'll start you off
detroit boston washington chicago cleveland toronto ?
its a long season but it is the eastern conference...boston upgraded...shaq is old and beatup...detroit is still solid...i dont see why we (barring injuries) dont have the talent to make the playoffs...if okafor hadnt been injured for ~12 games last year we might've snuck in the 8th spot, and j-rich is clearly a huge upgrade 11/6/2007 12:22:58 AM |

Orlando and a healthy miami both have a better starting five than charlotte. THe knicks definitely have a more impressive starting 5 on paper even if the frontcourt can't guard anybody. I can't even say that Atlanta's starting five is worse with any sort of confidence.
Felton is a good PG, though I think he'd fit better as a change of pace point guard that comes in with the second unit of a good team. He has trouble finishing in traffic and still can't hit outside shot like he needs to. But he is quick as fuck and can run the offense with great leadership.
Richardson is a good scorer. Good size, but I don't think he is better than a rashard lewis or ricky davis. (just examples of borderline all star talents on the 7th and 8th team.....neither is the best player on his respective team)
Wallace is good. I think he has suffered what should be called the Shawn Marion disorder....He has been called "underrated" so much that he has become overrated. He's a good player. Helluva athlete. I don't trust him shooting, but he's a great slasher. His Defense is good, the numbers are misleading. gambling on blocks and steals inflate his defensive image.
Okafor-should probably start at center. plays good Defense. Will not get any better and has no offensive game.
Do we even want to talk about the 5 spot?
I want the bobcats to make the playoffs this year as much as the next guy. But this thread seems to be a little too excited about these four players. 11/6/2007 1:28:05 AM |

RIchardson is a better character guy. But his main skill is scoring the basketball from the wing. That's what Ricky Davis does and no Richardson isn't better than Davis at that.
I'd still rather have Richardson on my team for obvious reasons. 11/6/2007 4:12:45 PM |
