I played this (the first week and a half) on my 23" tv from freshman year in 2002.
I'm currently playing this on my sister's 42" hdtv. it's a little bit better.
on a side note, anyone already looking forward to replaying this the second time as either an unruly asshole or a "neutral" dependsonthesituation type of character?
also: lol at the fallout boy lincoln repeater image. if this doesn't exemplify the quality of thought they put into the game then I don't know what does.

don't get me wrong, I admire this, but I simply don't have enough crede hours to do this. I make swift drop/use/keep decisions all the time

Not that I keep everything, things I don't use stay on the ground. But right now I have a low strength character, and I don't have all the schematics for what I'm eventually going to build, so I need a place to put stuff. 11/8/2008 8:10:23 PM |

i am pretty disappointed because its not doing much damage and i have to carry around junk as ammo and that weighs me down pretty bad

Rock It Launcher sucks.
The rest of the custom weapons are great though
Shishkebab: Awesome melee Deathclak Gauntlet: Awesome unarmed Railway Rifle: Really good small guns Bottlecap Mine and Nuka Grenade: Awesome explosives Dart Gun: Awesome for everyone when fighting melee enemies
There are no custom energy weapons 11/8/2008 9:08:39 PM |

^^ actually it's more like the nail gun.
It's not a magnetically propelled weapon like "railguns" or gauss weapons.
It's a steam powered weapon that shoots railroad spikes. 11/9/2008 12:14:39 AM |

yeah, it snuck up on me. i was laughing when i chose the "bad" path and then it just ended. i was like...oh gay.
only merc i had whole game was my slave bitch. i went on a mission shortly after that made me lose her so i lost half my (less awesome) weapons and ran out of ammo as a result.
used to keep 10mm and assault rifle around just in case, but usually keep 44 cal, sniper, hunting rifle, and combat shotgun on quick buttons. 11/9/2008 11:20:25 AM |

*SPOILERS*
If you're talking about Raven Rock, the followers usually go back to where you first got them I think.
Because I lost Star Paladin Cross after that, figured they killed her when I was captured. So I took Fawkes along with me (who kicks a tremendous amount of ass) and did some more exploring before I went back for the final mission.
When I was ready to go, I went to the Citadel, lo and behold, Cross was just walking around, in my Tesla armor and with my android plasma rifle strapped to her back. I was like "I thought you were dead" and she was like "LOL nah, I just took your stuff and ran" (this convo didn't actually happen, but I imagine it would have went something like that).11/9/2008 11:31:55 AM |

You have to progress in the main quest to get in the citadel.

AndyMac All American 31922 Posts user info edit post |
I think it means you can fast travel anywhere.
I picked Reaper Spirit. That's just so freaking powerful. Devote all your shots to taking out a single target, and if you can kill it you get all your action points back. 11/9/2008 6:45:40 PM |

In hind sight, I would say I would not raise any skill above 90, just because there is is some outfit that can boost any of them and you will find quite a few books to read; the only exception is Repair, and if I restarted right now, I get my Repair Skill to 100 in the first 4-5 Levels, becasue if makes your weapons stronger faster, and can help with the Weight. Personally I pick mainly Perks that make you have a greater Damage resistance or make my weapons stronger like Cyborg, Command, Toughness, Action Boy, Better Critical, Mysterious Stranger, Grim Reaper's Spirit, Finesse, Nerd rage, and Bloody Mess. 11/9/2008 6:59:34 PM |

next gonna play, smart techno druggy (with a heart of gold). gonna keep and use drugs a lot in place of having higher agilty and focus on intelligence. going energy weapons, hacking, and speach. plan on trying to talk my way out of shit most of the time and convince ppl to do the right thing.
last playthrough will be a hulking brute woman who is too stupid to be good or evil. melee weapons and big guns heavy on str, con, agi. 11/9/2008 11:27:06 PM |

i feel bad for those of you who have powered through the game without exploring. there's way too much cool shit out there to finish at level 15
for example, as i was exploring the northern part of the map today near old olney, i stumbled across a radio signal...following it so it got stronger, i started getting some rad exposure...then i stumbled across the source...an alien spaceship crashed with the alien dead next to it. also next to it was an alien pistol and about 120 rounds of unique ammo
after a little testing, this has to be the most powerful gun in the game - i've one shotted a lot of thing with it, but am going to save it as the ammo hasn't been anywhere else i've been 11/9/2008 11:33:13 PM |

shrug i was lvl 15 when i finished. play through the towns, stop and do 2-3 side quests each. now i am going back and exploring while i level up. explored quite a bit fo the map now hitting quests i heard about or just exploring.
