Okay my problem is way worse. I thought it was my phone messing up because I couldn't get my mobile uploads to upload to the new facebook 1.7, so I delete the app. I re download the app and as I am doing so I can't connect, next thing you know my entire address book is gone. All 406 #'s. At sprint they told me that it might give me some of my #'s back when the server goes back up and then I go to verizon and the guy says that all my #'s are probably in sync with the facebook. I know it might be false hope but I am PRAYING that when this gets fixed I will have my #'s back. What do you guys think?

all the buttons just stopped working on my keyboard/trackball on my curve 8330, I tried a battery pull and nothing. it's receiving new emails but I can't even get the screen to come up when it falls asleep unless i plug it in or unplug it from the charger... anyone ever had this happen?

^You've got liquid damage. Look under the trackball-towards the top of the hole you will see a little tab of paper that is either pink or red. If if weren't liquid damage it would be white.

same thing happened to mine... the keyboard and trackball completely stopped working because it was splashed by literally one or two drops of coffee. i took it out of the case, took the battery out, and let it dry for a few hours. then i blasted it with a hairdryer on the cool setting for about 20 minutes. it worked after that.

sure, it happens without liquid damage, but it's pretty damn rare. it can happen with tiny amounts too. you'd be surprised how many retards will wash there hands or get out of the shower or whatever and immediately start pounding away on their keypad/rolling the trackball.

I'm having an issue with one user and I don't know if its Exchange related, BES related or what.

Basically the person has their email reconciliation set to delete on mailbox and handheld, and that the mailbox wins on conflicts.

The issue is that every now and then, some messages that were already read and replied to, come up as unread in the user's Outlook/Webmail.

Has anybody had this issue?

i've been running the boost mobile 5.0 on my sprint 8330 for the past 2-3 weeks and really like it. i'm not having any of the memory leak/battery life issues others are. i'm not a big app person though, i keep it fairly simple/stripped. i'm running a factory theme from an 8530 (precision zen).

also fwiw, the .186 update to fix the 8330 ringer issue was released a few days ago.

Calendars from multiple accounts or multiple calendars from the same account? When I had mine, I had several calendars on my google account and I thought they all synced over just fine using Google's sync for Blackberry or whatever it's called.

im thinking about getting a 9630 (Tour) on Verizon. is the 9650 coming out any time soon (i.e. in the next 3 weeks) or would it be later in the summer? is it worth waiting for? all they really did was change to the trackpad and add wifi, the former of which i only care about...as long as i don't have problems with the trackball initially it should be fine right?

I've had a 9630 since December and have no issues with the trackball. My wife has an 8530 and I can't stand the trackpad. I would say wait for the 9650 to come out and maybe 9630 prices will drop.

shit, is the track ball being a pain in the ass a known issue on the tour? Occasionally, I can spin it non-stop and get nowhere. It's extremely frustrating when I really need to check or send an email and it's not cooperating.

There are also some times when I go, say left with track-ball and it goes right on the screen. It doesn't happen often, but really sucks when it does.

If that is the issue and it's known, will they replace it at no cost (maybe depending on the age)?

yeah, it was supposedly the early batches that had the issue but people still complain about the ones bought recently too. If you're going to stick with a failberry, I'd wait on the 9650

So I may be behind in this, but it is annoying nonetheless.

RIM is apparently pushing applications to Blackberrys. These include Bing and Skype. I have no need for either, so I called tech support to figure out how to get rid of them. Here's how you do it:

On the home screen, go to Options.
Go to Service Book.
Highlight [unwanted application]
Push the Menu key and select "Delete"
Select "Yes" to delete

This will get rid of any unwanted shit pushed to your Blackberry by RIM.

^ I'm not sure that it's RIM so much as the individual carriers. I had a curve with Sprint for a number of years and up until about a month ago - I never had a 3rd party app pushed to my device though my friend with a curve on Verizon's network had Bing and a few other apps pushed to his device.

they signed a deal with MS a while back to make bing the exclusive search engine app for bb's. all you have to do though is just set your browser home screen to google.com and hide the bing app

Has anyone gone from a Droid to the Tour? I'm within my 30 day trial period with a Droid and while it's great how customizable it is and all...I think I want something simpler and more robust. I don't have as much time/desire anymore to fiddle with my phone so that it can do all kinds of tricks and shit - just need solid and fast email, text, voice. With the occasional bit of inter-netting on the side (having the weather, sports scores, etc. handy...no heavy browsing or media usage really).

Also I think I'm actually getting tired of a touchscreen phone too, to be honest...even after having the iPhone for over a year.

Upgraded my Verizon Tour to 5.0 (finally) OTA. No problems so far. SMS is cooler.


I have some themes that say I have an upgrade available for dl, but when I go to upgrade, it says, "Not available for download from App World."
