Ahhh I hate the fact that one of Denver or Golden State is going to miss the playoffs while one one of New Jersey or Atlanta makes it

I wish it were like college to an extent with a "common sense" rule

If you're 20 games over 500 you make the playoffs...if youre 20 games under you dont

and if you put up 168 youre in either way

Battier's defense on Kobe was pretty damn good...as was the whole Laker's team on T-mac.

I kind of wanted to see this game as a Kobe vs. T-Mac matchup with both guys lighting it up. But it ended up being a great "team" game with Skip-to-my-Lou going off.

GG Rockets.

And holy shit Nuggets...take it easy on the poor Sonics.

kinda rare for TNT to have a game on Tuesday but I'll take Rockets/Celts in HD rather than the youtube quality of some League Pass channels

I can't wait. More games need to be on TNT. I wonder if they'll pick up more next year with the quality of basketball that's been played this year.

Or I might just have to buck up and get the league pass or move in with a roommate who actually likes the NBA so they can split it with me (NOBODY watches NBA where I live).

I have the league pass but still prefer big games to be on national broadcast just because of the picture quality

Time Warner needs to incorparate HD into the League pass package next year

Most of the games are broadcast in HD by the station that does them...TWC just doesn't have the channels to show them in thier native resolution

Well, Turner is taking over NBATV and NBA.com, so you'll probably get more quality NBA broadcasts next season.

"Turner Broadcasting System to run NBA TV and Web operations
Associated Press

Updated: January 17, 2008, 6:24 PM ET

NEW YORK -- Turner Broadcasting System is taking over the NBA's TV and Web operations.

Turner Sports president David Levy and NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver will jointly manage the venture, the league announced Thursday.

The deal will run through the 2015-16 season. Turner already airs dozens of NBA games on TNT each season.

"When you have a partner of 24 years that not only produces your games already in award-winning fashion, but has developed digital expertise that it would take you years to gear up for ... we believe this is the better model," commissioner David Stern said on a conference call.

Under the agreement, Turner will run NBA TV, the league's television network; NBA.com; NBA League Pass, a service that allows fans to watch out-of-market games; and the league's broadband and wireless businesses.

Turner and the NBA will jointly sell advertising for all the operations and will share profits.

Good lord the Rockets are getting spanked. They look like absolute shit tonight.

I bet Rafer regrets hot dogging it at the end of that first quarter now. He's playing like pure shit.

Shaq continuing to play well for the Suns. 16 pts, 15 rebs, 5 asts, 3 blks against the Blazers.

Suns still dropped 111 and held Portland to under 100.

i'm sure we'd all like any pro athlete's salary

however its pretty fucking funny that redick demanded a trade and his coaches were like "no....no we're not going to trade you....no....you're just going to get ass splinters all season"

^i think it was another 'wow'

i thought AI scored 54 for a minute then I realized he meant the Heat

Rafer Alston having to eat his words recently...

Quote :
""Some guys like Rafer Alston like to run their mouth … that just added fuel to our fire tonight. D-West, that's my guy. For him to say he's not a star, I mean let's see what All-Star game [Alston]'s played in.""

-- Hornets guard Chris Paul, firing back at comments Rockets guard Rafer Alston made comparing the merits of Yao Ming and David West."

I'm pretty sure it was pre-game...but in response to a question about playing a weak schedule during their streak and having the other good teams play without their star player (Lakers without Gasol, Dallas without Dirk, Hornets without David West)...Rafer replied that Yao Ming has been out for most of the streak and that some of the other teams player aren't all-stars like Yao Ming. Paul shut him up.

And he ran his mouth the whole first half against the Celtics only to get his ass handed to him in the first half. He's definitely gotten a lot more confident during this streak. Might need to stfu and let his play do the talking for him.

assuming gunsupbrah is a duke fan....i'm sure he loves the paychecks of Vince Carter, Felton, Jamison, etc

i personally dont like duke or carolina, but i think pointing to someone's salary is a pretty weak comeback

So are the Celtics the favorites now?? Sweeping the Texas teams on the road was pretty impressive. Even more impressive will be if they can complete their 5-game road trip with a win over New Orleans.

And the Lakers have picked it up without Gasol the past few games with wins at Dallas and Utah (a team with a 19-game winning streak at home).
