bilas carried me into the locker room after duke v. clemson in '86 when i had leukemia. my parents say to this day, they've never met a nicer person. coach k is actually a very nice person as well.

fsu had a good shot...they got sloppy in the end though.

bilas actually nails duke more than anyone...i love listening to him.

Sort of unrelated but I went to Art Heyman's bar in Manhattan a few times when I was up there... he has the reputation for being standoffish and kind of a dick but the guy couldn't be nicer. I was wearing a NC State hat and he spoke with me for at least a half hour just about ACC ball.. that was one of the coolest trips to a bar I've ever had...

V shit.. I think it was something Tracy Jay's or something but I can't remember off the top of my head.. it's on Park Ave near 20th...

yeah it's funny how some people are much different than how they're perceived. wojo comes across as a prick by how he played on the court sometimes and i was scouting at the duke basketball camp way back when and there was a kid carrying a pizza, his gym bag, and his shoes and about to drop everything...wojo pulled his car over, hopped out and ran over and carried the kids bag and shoes for him all the way to the dorm.

julius hodge was the same way. he had flash and showed his emotions, but he said hi to me by name for four years every single time i saw him and was always really nice.

^^ yeah I know I was like that when I played hockey. I'm a nice guy that never got into fights, but once I got on to the ice I knocked the shit out of people and didn't puss out when someone would get in my face. I would just go crazy on them and beat their usually richie rich asses (b/c most of the hockey players I played against were rich kids that thought they were hot shit). I was mean and sometimes downright dirty. I just played hard all the time and was relentless, but played smart. It's crazy how much people can change when they get on the court, ice, field, etc.

Good. I like Bob Knight and fuck Texas A&M basketball and their bandwagon fans. Sure they are great football fans (which is easy to do in Texas), but it wasn't too long ago that they struggled to support their basketball team.

At least we support both of our programs pretty well.

I can let the foul that should have been a jump ball go, but the hip check was just too blatant not to call. the refs completely swallowed their whistles on that one. that's a very dangerous play too. I wouldn't have blamed Paul Hewitt for getting thrown out for that one. he should have thrown a chair like Knight.
