I wish Sid had benched all the starters at the first timeout he had to call after halftime, at least until the TV timeout. The sloppy play and lack of hustle shown by everyone out there but Degand, Hickson, and Horner (+Smith when he finally came in) was inexcusable.

Everybody had the exact opposite argument about Ferguson last week. He busted his ass out on the court, but didnt produce so everyone wanted him out. Costner is producing (however minimal the production may look, he's still good for 10 points a night) but he's not hustling and everyone wants him out.

It would be tough for Sid to just bench Costner after tonight's lack of effort though because only two people SHOWED EFFORT (Hickson and Degand). He would have to bench Costner, McCauley, Grant, and Fells. I am all for that by the way though. But the best way to handle this is to get the team back to practice and blame all of them. Letting a couple of guys off the hook in a 30 pt. blowout will only divide the team more and add to chemistry issues . I say he brings them back and tells them how poor an effort it was by NC STATE not a few individuals.

thats the thing with this years team, we have 4 or 5 players that think they're going to play in the nba, so they only give a shit about scoring themselves and padding their stats

don't get me wrong, the competitive drive to score a lot of points will win you some games

but when you face opponents like msu (and most of the acc) that are scrapy and physical, and 70% of them KNOW they're not going to play in the nba, you're going to get run up and down the court

^^^If those guys are looking to the NBA you would think that they would know playing well might actually get them there. To be honest it even looked like Sid was tired and not all that into the game. Grant it I didn't watch most of the second half so I could be off, but that was my take. It looked like they were all tired, no one really wanted to be there.

The scariest thing was the offensive flow...the turnovers, bad shooting, and lack of hustle are all big things that have to get corrected...but even a tired team should have an offense to run. There was 0 movement and 0 flow in our offense from what I saw. It's not rocket science...someone has to penetrate, get the defense to collapse and dish back out...but the lack of movement and flow in our offense was hard to watch.

Seriously, we never go to and fight for the rebound... and when we were taking shots last night no one was under the basket, no one even was running to get a rebound... they just turned around once the ball left their hands to play "D."

I switched bars in the middle of the game during half time and the second bar I was at didn't have the game on. I felt embarassed just asking to have the game put on.

Last night was absolutely ridiculous. I don't follow things closely in the preseason, but can someone explain to me why the media thinks we're good this year, whereas I don't see any improvement over the end of last season?

I wouldn't know, I didn't watch the end of the second half. This was the only NCSU game I've ever willingly walked away from, and I don't feel bad about it. I gave them the first half, and almost half of the second half to show me the game was worth watching and I got nothing. If they fucking players don't care to be out there, why the fuck should I care to watch?

I am more angry with NCSU basketball right now than I have ever been.

yea, i noticed we woke up in the second half to keep pace with Mich State...but we were 20-25 points behind the whole time.

The difference is that we've seen what Cosnter can do when he plays on both ends of the floor. He CAN rebound. He CAN play decent defense. The problem is that he just doesnt, so get him the fuck out.

I bet lowe is already showing them video of how much better they were last year. Just watching the Duke and UNC wins alone could show them how they used to fucking hustle, play as a team, and go for every ball on defense while they carved up opponents with very precise offense.
