i'm not sure which is worse

the lack of tying up the stick

or the fact that if fleury had been patient and waited for the shot to drop, he wouldn't have re-opened the hole that shot trickled through

I still think we drop one. Which is fine. Better to hoist the Cup in motown.

The '02 Hurricanes did better against those fucking Red Wings than the Pens are doing at this stage. Sure, that series ended 4-1, but the only game that was even close to a blowout in that series was Game 4.

gg Pens.

One of two things has to happen in the first five minutes of Game 3: the Pens need to score or Laraque needs to grab ANYONE in a white jersey and pound them. Get that building awake in a hurry.

^sure the place needs to be awake, but that still wont mean SHIT unless they get more organized. detroit is outcoaching them, out positioning them, making better (EXPERIENCED) decisions, such as patience, when to strike, when to pass... and detroit is a smaller slower team (except for mule) on top of all that, so that just amplifies how much they are outdoing pittsburgh in all of these other areas

so you are right no doubt the building needs to go off, but even if it does (due to something OTHER than a goal, like a big hit) it really wont mean dick
I think pittsburgh will come out pretty darn strong with nothing to lose, i mean they havent even scored yet in this series. Detroit needs to weather that fire in the first period and if they do they should put a stranglehold on this series

I hope the red wings keep up this intensity and mentaliy of how to go about winning these games

Quote :
"STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Detroit Red Wings' victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup finals opener was the highest-rated and most-watched cable telecast of the championship round in six years.

The Red Wings' 4-0 win on Saturday night had a 1.8 national rating -- drawing over 2.3 million viewers. The rating was the highest for an NHL game on Versus, topping the audience that watched the Penguins' Game 2 victory over Philadelphia in this year's Eastern Conference finals.

Only Lance Armstrong's final ride in the 2005 Tour de France had a higher rating in Versus history (2.1).

Versus will show Game 2 of the finals on Monday night before the series shifts to NBC for the remaining games.

The Game 1 rating is a 157 percent increase over last year's opener and a 100 percent rise from two years ago."

well, upset but not concerned

detroit still outplayed them and missed their chances, penguins didnt.
i was really happy detroit didnt give up, they came in to pittsburgh to win, and i know they will in game 4 (not win, but come to play, and maybe win )

ratings up again, woot

Quote :
"Pittsburgh's 3-2 win on Wednesday night earned a 2.8 national rating and an 18.2 rating in Detroit, beating out the 15.9 rating for the Pistons' matchup with the Boston Celtics.

Game 5 of the NBA's Eastern Conference finals drew a 5.3 national rating."

Quote :
"The combination of Games 1, 2 and 3 have made this the highest-rated and most-watched opening games of the Stanley Cup finals since Detroit faced Carolina in 2002.

The Stanley Cup game was also up in total viewers, from 1.63 million last year to 4.46 million this year."

thanks.

NBC convinced me that I'd like them to keep the network deal last night. (Wouldn't mind adding ESPN to the cable part of it) Only complaint (just like every other US network) is they won't show THE GOD DAMN MOTHERFUCKING PREGAME (on ice and stuff). BE MORE LIKE CBC ASSHATS
