how terrible would it have been if someone swatted that fly, killed sam, then he went back to his human form? a naked splatted body on the table??
8/17/2009 3:22:39 PM
i thought it was pretty ballsy of (what is presumed to be) sam to hang out gran's table with eggs, maryanne, and tara present.
8/17/2009 3:50:59 PM
This was probably my favorite show of the season, for all the reasons which have pretty much been mentioned. But especially Eric's character development.I loved seeing Lafeyette kick the shit out of Eggs. I realize he's being manipulated, but I've never really liked his character. And I didn't like the way he responded at the bar.
8/17/2009 5:52:01 PM
yeah look at Jason and the drill instructori was thinking "yeah right" at the time
8/17/2009 5:57:39 PM
i think that was kinda bullshit. It seemed like that guy had some military training. I would assume if you're hiring a guy to run your army to fight vampires, he's probably ex. special forces. At least, that's what I'd be looking for, in addition to other things. That guy got worked far too easy imo.
8/17/2009 6:35:13 PM
I felt the same way about the Jason/Instructor fight, but I thought about it a bit. The Instructor had been training the cadets and I assume part of the training was hand-to-hand combat so I'm sure the Instructor had taught Jason quite a bit. Factor that in with the Jason being in better shape and faster, it isn't unlikely that he was able to beat him in a fight. But also he had him in a bad spot and then he pissed Jason off, and sometimes that is enough adrenaline to push you over the top.

8/17/2009 11:37:33 PM
GODRIC NOOOOOOOOO and at first I was meh on Eric, but Sookie's dream was hot ]
8/17/2009 11:43:51 PM
what do all you girls see in godric/eric and what can i do to replicate that success!
8/18/2009 6:42:24 AM
1st...be a 1000+ year old vampire with not just years of wit under your belt, but years of perfecting what you can do under your belt 2nd...look like alexander skarsgard3rd...be the kind of guy that you're not sure if he's gonna trick youcryor rip your limbs off and be able to still pull off the scary in hair foils and flip flopsand hopefully...he'll show up in your dreams or your bathtub or just rock a black tank top like it's your job...
8/18/2009 8:49:32 AM
gosh, at first i was all MEH for Eric as well. but damn if he hasn't grown on me like a horrible fungus
8/18/2009 8:56:02 AM
i've liked eric as a character from the beginning, but for me it was the episode that Bill staked Longshadow on that i really started to like him. but, i think the turning point for a lot of gals on an eric high was when he cut his hair. short >>>> longadmittedly...i like him to the extent that i do now b/c i've read the books. he's so much more interesting and developed in the books...but it looks like AB is getting there with his character development this season, so we'll see and seeing Skarsgard bring Eric to life is a lot of fun to watch. he was cast well.[Edited on August 18, 2009 at 9:08 AM. Reading the last page or so I feel like I'm the only person here who didn't understand the purpose of Godric killing himself. It seemed like he killed himself because he was sick of being a vampire and was sorry for all the terrible things he did as a vampire, not because he was sacrificing for anyone. When Sookie told Eric she would stay with him until it was over I was thinking, "he's a 2000 year old vampire, why the hell would he want your stupid redneck ass with him as he commits suicide?"And I'm going to have to call BS on you here elkaybie
8/18/2009 9:15:39 AM
Sorry you feel that way. I'll PM you how it goes down in the books if you'd like.
8/18/2009 9:29:31 AM
godric killed himself because he was emo.
8/18/2009 10:04:11 AM
Dude.Godric = Jesus.GODric. He was wearing all white, gave himself up to better everyone else.I imagine we may see him again at some point, but I honestly have no idea.
8/18/2009 10:28:05 AM
Godric burned away in 15 seconds at sunrise, yet Bill ran around outside in broad daylight for about 5 minutes during the Season 1 Finale trying to protect Sookie. It just didn't seem right.
8/18/2009 10:57:23 AM
He said it wouldn't take long because he was so old.
8/18/2009 11:00:44 AM
Yeah he said something. Maybe older = more powerful = more energy?
8/18/2009 11:11:32 AM
only thing that bothered me with that was Bill charred versus Godric quantum leap effectsbut i guess they would attribute that to age too?
8/18/2009 11:15:30 AM
godric's killing himself didn't better anyone else. hell nan even said something like "relax, it's not that big of a deal, we just need you to fill out some paperwork." he was simply ready to die.[Edited on August 18, 2009 at 11:26 AM. Reason : ]

8/18/2009 6:24:36 PM
Am I the only one who was underwhelmed with the whole Godrick story line from start to finish?
8/18/2009 7:19:51 PM
no. The only purpose the Godric character served was giving Eric some emotional depth.
8/18/2009 7:38:05 PM
^^I was also hoping to see more of Godric and learn more about him. I see that his story gave more depth to the character of Eric but even in that purpose I feel that there wasn't enough of him.
8/18/2009 7:45:08 PM
The whole pupose of godric was to make eric be on the verge of tears for the whole damn season, thereby wetting the panties of faggy female fans.
8/18/2009 8:20:08 PM
He could still be in the show by way of flashbacks.I really wouldn't mind if they finished out this Maryann bullshit and next season had a side plot built around past events. This show could tell a lot of story through flashbacks. It could just be someone/something coming into play for the main plot line that has past history with Bil or Eric, which could easily include other vampires we've been introduced to (any from dallas or the 3 from season one that were killed). It would be tough to figure out what to do with the side character like Sam, Tara, and Lafeyette (who is one of the best characters). But it would be a hell of a lot better than this slow-paced, drunken orgy fighting bullshit.
8/18/2009 8:26:38 PM
Hey please note they never mentioned his last name. . .GODRIC GRYFFINDORI think he baked faster because he was all old/desiccated and wasn't feeding. All the other vampires you see die are juicy with blood.

I thought Godric was bad ass looking when he turned Eric and killed his two friends. I wish they would show the more bad ass side of him instead of the placid looking emo suicide kid.

This show has gone to complete shit
8/19/2009 2:43:20 PM
^ Your post have gone to complete shit
8/19/2009 3:12:50 PM
^^I wouldn't say it's gone to complete shit, but this season isn't very good. The show was always sort of a silly live action vampire cartoon, but season two has gotten really ridiculous and pretty boring at times.
8/19/2009 5:41:18 PM
just rewatched the eps 1-3...and there were 2 things about maryann's story that stuck out to me more this timein the first episode. What's up with the statue, and does anyone know what it's called?? Sam picks it up when he goes to take Maryann the bag of cash, and then he has his little flashback. It's a headless woman with her arms in the classic Maryann shimmy position. Carl calls it something, but I can't make out what he says.in the third, at maryann's 1st party, carl is dishing up a stew and it's when most of the people at bon temps come under maryann's spell. in that stew had to have been ms. jeanette's heart...just like the hunter's souffle had daphne's. didn't make that connection w/ the hunter's soufle since it had been awhile.
