this game was proof that we can't afford to play smith at center next year. he will be forced to pick up too many fouls on defense because of his size. the same thing will happen with howell and they will live in foul trouble because they have to foul as the last line of defense and will end up fouling trying to block shots and rebound against 7 footers.

javi blew that inbounds pass. i was confident that game was over at that second. then freshman wood out-hustlles the defense, grabs the ball, and sprints out of the backcourt. freshman howell sneaks in under the basket, and wood makes a smart 40 ft-pass to howell, who puts the ball in the basket.


i still can't believe that actually happened.

3 near turnovers by Javi, the last of which was a 60 foot ball into the backcourt from an undrneath inbounds with 6 seconds left. Wood scrambles to grab it, USF defenders left Howell alone under the basket for the lay in.
