I watched him play and he (and the rest of the starters) were out there into the 4th quarter. I didn't notice if Irving got any tackles; I checked whenever we got a tackle and didn't see him ever get one. Of course, my eyesight isn't that great and our defense was almost always on the opposite side from us (SEZ). Once I thought I saw him get a sack, but it was an option play and the QB didn't have the ball anymore.

I didn't really see him do anything spectacular.

^^ I kept an eye on Nate whenever he was on the field. He didn't blow up the stat sheet by any means, but he was a key part of the overall defensive performance.
- He was frequently seen moving his teammates around, pushing them into a better position
- He frequently was the 1st LB to be blocked, sometimes doubleteamed. This allowed for Manning to really shine.
- most of the D mistakes were in the secondary or runs to the outside. Not too many positive plays up the middle for Western Carolina

Overall assessment - it's great to see Nate back

nate was just absorbing blocks. Manning made the tackles

nate was saying how they specifically schemed to minimize his role. Once TM and AC show they can take up that slack consistently, especially TM, Nate will be less blocked. If not, TM and AC will rack up alot of tackles. Dwayne Maddox had 2nd highest number of tackles. Maddox + Manning combined for 17 tackles, that's a good number from the Weakside LB spot.
