Interesting. No wonder Carter was listed ahead of him on the Spring Chart. I was wondering if they might do this.
Great for depth. Like Bullet pointed out, in 2012 after Bryan graduates, we'll have Carter as a redshirt senior and Watson as a redshirt junior, and three more guys behind them. Assuming TOB redshirts all future incoming freshmen TE's, and no one transfers or flunks out of school, we'll have a redshirt senior TE on the roster every year until at least 2016.7/8/2011 2:48:03 PM |

on another note, i'm really excited about the defense this year. there is a lot of experience in the secondary and linebackers, which should make our D-line fairly successful. 7/8/2011 3:54:58 PM |

^^the more skilled in coverage the secondary and linebackers are, the more time the D-line has to get pressure
and if our linebackers can get pressure on the QB along with the line, our secondary can make some plays

if moose and co. get room to run and glennon isn't running scared, I think we'll be just fine. I think the defense is going to be solid, and the secondary will be a huge surprise with Smith, Byrd, Amerson, etc.

I'd love for our team's entrance video to include some songs from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack, particularly the song called Arena. It's got a perfect build up to lead into a harder song and be the song the players walk down the tunnel too. Top Gear used this perfectly to open their comparison of the McLaren MP4-12C and the Ferrari 458 Italia. Daft Punk did well on that soundtrack.

I agree, I'd love to see that song played during the video before our opening.
Tron soundtrack is amazing, and so is Top Gear for picking the right songs at the right times for 17 seasons now (and unrelated: that MP4-12C lap time was amazing!).
Looking forward to this season! 7/12/2011 11:01:15 AM |

#51, Jim Ritcher, Retired Jersey
Offensive Lineman
At NC State: Jim Ritcher is one of three Atlantic Coast Conference players to win the Outland Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s premier lineman. A two-time consensus All-American, Ritcher won the Outland Trophy as a Wolfpack senior in 1979, when he literally cleared the way for NC State to earn the ACC Championship. Still an active member of the Wolfpack family, Ritcher, whose son John was a redshirt freshman for the 2002 squad, thrived in the NFL for 16 years, playing in four Super Bowls with the Buffalo Bills. Ritcher’s No. 51 was retired on Feb. 8, 1987. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998. Ritcher's oldest son, John, played tight end for the Wolfpack from 2002-05 and his youngest son, Harrison, is a fullback with the team in 2008.
In the Professional Ranks: A first-round draft choice in 1980, Ritcher went on to play 16 seasons in the NFL, splitting time with the Buffalo Bills (1980-93) and the Atlanta Falcons (1994-95). An All-Pro choice in 1986, 1988, and 1990, Ritcher played in the 1992 and 1993 Pro Bowls. He also played in four Super Bowls with Buffalo and played in more games than any other Buffalo Bill (225). He was inducted into the Buffalo Hall of Fame in 2005.

Was looking at the future opponents http://www.gopack.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/072110aab.html
1.) I like that we have UT and UConn next year, but are we really going to play 2 FCS teams next year? (again) 2.) 2013 doesn't look too bad (If ECU can continually put a decent product on the field) 2.) 2014 looks awful.. @Central Michigan, @ USF, and an FCS team
So, how likely are these things to change? Can we buy out the @Central Michigan game? (IMO we shouldn't be visiting any non-BCS school)
