Condemning Yow is dumb and I only said it because I am angry. Lowe getting fired before seasons end is not that crazy though. I think it is fairly clear the players don't give a fuck about him. Everyone knows he is going to lose his job and they put in less than a lack of effort. Why keep a coach around whose own players don't play for him.

Lowe definitely isn't getting it done but I don't know if it's safe to say the players don't care about him (well, some of them might not). I think half the problem is that he's more of a friend than a coach to the freshmen so they just have no discipline at all.

Lowe's gotta go. No doubt about it. We suck. But, don't fire him mid-season...just let him go at the end of the year.

As for the game itself, Zo played well. That last charge call was total bullshit. Leslie's final numbers weren't bad, but he takes too many ill-advised deep jumpers. That's not his game. I don't know if Lowe has given him the "green light" or if Leslie continues to jack those shots up even after Lowe tells him no...but he should not be shooting those unless he's wide open (even then, it's not a high percentage shot for him). It will be interesting to see how the team plays with Harrow in the lineup vs North Carolina next time.

I haven't been following this whole game thread, but I couldn't help but lol when the announcers pretty much said that we pushed Herb Sendek out so that we could get the wildly popular Sidney Lowe, as if Lowe was our #1 choice all along. That's not at all how it happened...But whatever.

Lowe can't even hang his hat on beating our rivals every year while failing to make the big dance. He's history and the team knows it. This isn't the NBA/NFL, it's unrealistic to fire Lowe during the season and it's not classy either. I respect Lowe for what he's done for the university and I think he'll be a good assistant coach or recruiter going forward. He was a great player, but he's clearly not a great coach. Just accept that we won't make the NCAA or make a run in the ACC tourny, and look towards next year. No use in getting angry anymore, it's wasted emotion now. Yow will replace him, but with whom?

Not that it mattered necessarily, but it was some typical NC State shit that Ryan Harrow couldn't play...Harrison Barnes has his coming out party/best game of his career...John Henson has his best game of his career...even Justin Knox had 10 points, twice his season average. It seems like someone (or an entire team for that matter) always saves their best game for us. Of course, that probably says something about our defense this season, too.

Exactly. I mean the argument could made that Herb was "forced out" even though he left on his own for another job. It's not like he retired. And it took us over a month to get down to Lowe on our wishlist of coaches, so he was clearly not our first choice. But the national analysts will say whatever it takes to support their opinion.
