Got bored at work and was looking through AP Poll archives. The last time we were ranked was #24 on November 26, 2007.

That date isn't going to be a surprise to any NC State basketball fan but I was just curious after reading some of the talk about possibly being ranked if we beat Indiana. I agree with pack bryan (I think it was him) when he said it's going to take a lot more for a school that's been out of a national spotlight for so long to get some love in the polls.

The only good thing about being ranked, (and its big imo) is your highlights are shown on Sportscenter. Can't have too much exposure while building a program.

Rankings only really matter if you're consistently ranked throughout an entire season. So I won't care about the rankings until after Christmas and through a few ACC games.

I guess it would say a lot about Gottfried's impact if he got us ranked within a month after a 4 year period of nothing.
