I bet Roman asked Rafa to sign on as permanent manager, but Rafa knew he would get fired in less than a season, so only agreed to the title of interim manager so when he gets "replaced" it won't look bad on him.

I believe Fernando Torres always admired/respect/got along very well with Rafa Benitzez. And it's conceivable that his return could be just what Torres needs to rediscover his old form and become one of the world's premier strikers again. With all the attacking talent that's already on that team, they could seriously fuck some shit up with an elite striker leading the line.

But of course, even if Rafe's return does somehow spur Torres back to his old self, the new Torres would probably be offset by the laughable, inexplicable managerial antics of Rafe Benitez, with which, as a Liverpool fan, I am only too familiar.

anyhow, from the neutral point of view, Rafe to Chelsea is, if nothing else, a very interesting development. I look forward to seeing how it pans out
