Just posting facts. 2008 Davidson team went 20-0 in the SoCon. Got a 10 seed!

And guess who they beat in the first round that year.....Gonzaga.

yep, and I would take it a step further to say that Gonzaga being a #1 was a symptom of mid-majors in general getting higher seeds and more berths than they deserve given their resumes.

Sweet 16 has 4 Big 10 teams, 3 Big East, 2 ACC, 2 Pac-12, 1 Big 12, 1 SEC, 1 MVC, 1 A10, and one A-Sun.

As usual, the power conferences have dominated the tournament despite more bids and higher seeds than ever from mid-major conferences. And I am fine with making room for more mid-major teams in the tournament--afterall, it's hard to argue for Kentucky or Virginia or Maryland-- but just say that's what you are doing. Don't stand there with a straight face and try to argue that these conferences legitimately provide better or equal competition to the big six (five?) over the course of a season and then take that into tournament seedings.
