I love everything about curry. The antics, the shimmy, all of it. You overcome that many haters, doubters, scoffs from d1 coaches... and even analysts up until the last few months were still denigrating him.. and now all the sudden he's god.. plus he's a legitimate good guy. He's just an entertainer.

Green on the other hand is pretty douchy. I don't mind him because that being the heel stuff with the crowd doesn't bother me but I don't like the cheap shots and the kicks should be automatic technicals from here out. Kicking westbrook was garbage.. the arm pull down on adams..nut kicks?. that shit isn't cool..

Plus he just looks like a guy who would smell terrible. Bad smell and bad breath

^^i don't really dislike Curry myself, but i can totally see where the dislike would come from. he's cocky as fuck and showboats all the time. he's talented and can back it up, but he definitely seems to get a pass for that.

I literally can't fathom how someone can be a Curry hater but like Westbrook and his attitude instead. And the thing is, I don't even hate Westbrook. He's a damn good player. I will say he's a poor sport and a shit talker, but I respect his game enough to not hate him. And the mouth guard thing for Steph? Frigging KD was chewing on his mouth guard the same damn way during the national anthem last night. Who gives a fuck?

Lots of people that are not Golden State fans.

And honestly, I wouldn't dislike him as much if he also got criticized as most other superstars do. Westbrook, Durant, and Lebron lose...then they choke. Curry has a shitty start to the series...and he's injured or the other team is just playing great defense.

The guy gets a pass on pretty much everything.

The mouth guard is a little disgusting and annoying. It actually annoys me more because i think of legions of 12 year olds trying to be cool by emulating him by doing the same stupid shit in their rec league games...

Nothing annoys me more than people trying to copy nba mannerisms in their rec league games.

Not that I've seen a single one since 1994 but still it's the thought that counts.

I mean have we seen them lose as favorites yet? Hard to get mad at something that hasn't happened. Curry had a bad game or two... then rebounded and they won the series..

I mean the injury excuse is fairly legit. He rushed back from an Mcl sprain and he's likely going to need surgery now in the offseason.

Frail body type playing a demanding position. He's normally great at finishing around the basket and he was scared to take many of his normal twisting drives to the hoop. He was really penetration as a passer more than normal.

I'd say his turnaround time on the comeback and his level of play has been nothing short of incredible

I recently read an article about his "training" as well as a good bit about fixing and maintaining the ankles issues he was having early in his NBA career. Suffice it to say, he's pretty much a well oiled machine even though he looks "frail". Homeboy works on his body and conditioning just as much as his shooting and dribbling.

Don't get me wrong...I respect the talent...just don't love the antics. IMO, he's the NBA's Cam Newton...he just doesn't get the criticism that Cam does because his uncle didn't take a quarter mil from Auburn and his rich ass didn't need to steal a macbook at Davidson.

this is pretty fair in regards to the "choking" argument.

i was thinking along those lines as well...granted, comparing NFL and NBA isn't a perfect comparison. but of the stuff you mentioned (Cam's dad, the laptop thing) it's obvious people don't actually dislike the dancing...they're just looking for something to dislike about him or looking for something to justify their preconceived notion of him. with curry, he's always been an "underdog", never had the off the court stuff, that alone makes him more likeable....so people aren't looking for a reason to dislike him they would with somebody like Cam. again, it's not a perfect comparison...but i don't think it's unfair either.

Cam needs to do some thing where after he throws a pass to Olsen or Benjamin, before it's even been caught or tipped or dropped, he just turns away and looks at the crowd and starts dancing like Curry.

Steph hadn't won anything when he started doing it

Steph is cockier than Cam, he just doesn't get shit due the factors that have already been listed. a decent amount of the criticism Cam gets comes from being an exuberant black athlete at a position that has historically been white.

nah, not nearly as much as he does it now. he celebrated a bit before, but he's taken it to a whole new level this season. and he should. he made 400+ 3 pt shots.

and ok, let's go ahead and bring race into this retarded discussion while we're at it. Steph is light skinned, so that must be why people hate him less. or something. haha

sure, and i don't really have a problem with his showboating. but throughout every sport, it's something people incessantly, constantly, and consistently bitch about. except somehow steph curry gets a pass. it's just weird, that's all. and because it's a criticism of athletes pretty much across the board, i totally understand somebody saying they don't like curry. people disliking curry would be pretty consistent with them disliking people who pimp homers and choreograph touchdown dances. that's all. it's not a matter of "he's earned the right to and Newton has not" because they're playing a fucking sport for a shit ton of money and should be allowed to dance all over the court/field after every play if they want to.

^^that actually isn't true at all. i casually followed the Warriors during the "We Believe" season a year or two after I moved to the Bay Area, but they weren't any good until they made the playoffs again in 2013. they didn't get REALLY good until last season. If you want to dig back through my posts, I def followed and rooted for them the year they lost in the second round to the Clippers. like everyone else in NC, I watched Curry light it up in college during the NCAA tourney and was happy when the Ws drafted him.

I never claimed to be lifelong fan or an NBA expert like face, but it's not like I just started liking them when the playoffs started last season. I live in Oakland and I've lived in the Bay Area for over a decade now. Am I supposed to NOT like them?

You're just a jealous hater dude. Not much else to it.

i would tend to agree that anybody who hates a player just because they dance after TDs, pimp HRs, or showboat on the court is a "hater" because that's kinda a silly reason to dislike a player so much, imo. but, and i know your post wasn't directed at me, i also think it's kinda crazy that you are so shocked that somebody would hate a player as showboat-y as Curry. i mean, that's kinda par for the course for a lot of sports fans.

Cleveland has a large depth advantage .

Normally depth doesn't matter much in the playoffs because the rotations shorten and the top players initiate most of the offense.

But in a series this tight that should be extremely physically exhausting it could play a big role.

It's really a defensive series. Both teams are such great shooting teams that it's going to be won or lost by how well you can limit the other teams looks from the perimeter.

Okc wore down and gave up open looks in game 6 and 7.

I don't expect cleveland to tire because of the depth in their rotation. Golden state other than iggy and ezeli Is obviously going to be fearful to use anyone from their bench at all. Anytime the Brazilians check in they are at a clear disadvantage. Livingston is a solid player but he really kills most of what gsw is trying to accomplish offensively. It makes him look good individually but doesn't accurately depict how much worse they are as a unit with him in.

Watch YouTube video "how russell westbrook game 6 defense hurt the thunder"

LOL, don't really want to get in the middle of this, but are we really calling someone who's lived in the bay area for a decade a "bandwagon" fan, just because he didn't post all up in ST until a couple of years ago? Come on now. What was he supposed to do in 2010? Make an "*****OFFICIAL GS WARRIORS 2010-2011*****" thread? I mean, there's plenty of for real bandwagon GSW fans out there, in plenty of places like, probably all over rural NC.

I'd accept the label of bandwagon fan but I'd identify more as a bandwagon follower. I've been to a bunch of clippers and nets games but could never be a fan of either because i just hate the brand of basketball even when it works. in the nba, theres only a handful of teams (memphis, san antonio, cleveland, golden state, atlanta?) who even attempt to play team basketball with team defense throughout the season so you can't help but "bandwagon". Hell, theres only like 8 teams that are televised nationally. No point in following anybody else because they will have like 5 relevant games all year.

Growing up in Raleigh, I never had a local team to support so I just became a follower of playoff basketball. For most of my life, I've chosen a team to root for for whatever reason but never considered myself a fan. I rooted against the celtics big 3 unless they were playing lebron and In the lebron era, I've rooted for any team that had a chance to beat lebron. Magic, bulls, pacers.

Given the fact I'm on an NC State sports message board, it should exclude me from any discussions about being a bandwagoner. I've spent the better part of my life having my heart repeatedly broken over NC State shit, yet for whatever reason, I will still continue to root for my pathetic Wolfpack. Maybe one day they'll finally finish better than 4th in the ACC in football or win another ACC tourney in hoops. Dare to dream!

If I was really a bandwagonning type of fan, I would have latched on to the SF Giants the first time they won the WS in 2010. Or I would have jumped on in 2012. Or 2014. Or this season since they look good and it's an even year. The fact that I've been a very active and vocal Giants hater having to live with the constant media fawning and attention, and three damn celebration parades marching through the city, makes me well aware of what produces the hater mentality. And do you know where that attitude comes from? Jealousy. It sucks watching another group of people's fanbase get swept up the infectious, consuming euphoria and joy of watching a team win a championship, while you sit at home wishing it were your team instead. It sucks twice as much when your own team plays in the same market and could very well get shipped away, and everyone around you reminds you of it.

So the more that I think about it, the more I actually get it. I get why jbrick doesn't like Curry or the Warriors. Not quite sure what team he's a huge and dedicated fan of, but perhaps he'll go the rest of his life without ever getting to experience something like what's happened to the Warriors. A team that fucking sucked for the last 40 years, save a handful of seasons, and now is the hottest team on the planet.

I could say that I feel sorry for him, but I don't. I respect what it takes to let the salt flow through your veins and refuse to jump in and be labeled a bandwagoner, even when it would be so easy to do so; to soak up those awesome, happy feelings everyone is experiencing. It takes so much more dedication and pride to be a devout hater than people realize. So kudos to jbrick and the rest of the Ws haters- you da real MVPs

I've always liked the warriors from the run tmc and Nellie ball stuff. Lovedo c webber rookie year and his dunk on barkley. Loved the #8 seed warriors that upset the 67-15 mavs. Loved steph curry at Davidson and the nba. Warriors always had great fan base and deserved to have good teams. They aren't idiots like lakers fans who are really the scourge of the earth

Love curry more every year. Lebron is the greatest basketball player ever in terms of sustained performance imo, but curry just put up the best regular season of alltime.

I dont consider nba basketball a bandwagon sport. If you cheer for the winner in football that is bandwagon. Take your team and maybe adopt rivers or Wilson and that's it. Go ahead and cheer for your rivals to lose but you can't have 9 more teams you like.

But in the nba i think you can absolutely be a lebron, curry, durant, etc fan and cheer for them each year.

I mean don't get me wrong I love the hornets but realistically we have never been a title contender and we may never be. I'm okay with enjoying other guys success.

In football everyone has a real shot to win a title in the next few years. Baseball too. Hockey sure.

Nba isn't like that. I enjoy cheering for whatever i want. Because it's fun. It's not fun to be a sacramento kings or new jersey nets fan. It's not even usually fun being a Milwaukee Bucks or new Orleans fan or Atlanta Hawks fan

as a hawks season ticket holder, i can attest to this. it's a lot better now than it was before Budenholzer, but it's still damn tough. we do have Sir Foster, though, and more rappers in attendance per game than any other franchise, so there's that

I like players...not teams. Even if I were to live in a city with a team, I'd have to really like the players if I were to "adopt" them. I love professional sports, but I only can love one college team, unfortunately.

I'm with face and jbrick on this when it comes to the NBA. I've always rooted for players not teams in the NBA. Loved Dominique growing up and of course latched onto Jordan as teenager like everyone else. I hate Jordan now, but was a fan when they were winning. Liked Barkley and Shaq some too. Never a Kobe or Duncan guy and I hated the Iverson/Detroit Pistons/Celtics Big 3 years. Dirk was easy to root for when the Mavs won.

When LeBron came, I immediately starting following the NBA closer and have been a fan ever since. I like Curry and Leonard as well, enjoy watching them play. Will pull for the Cavs in this series, but won't really be upset if the Ws win again.

I'm not sure the nba is even about hardcore fans liking a team the way college fans do, I mean there are people that know about basketball that follow the nba but in terms of rooting hard for a particular team, seems more like casual fans that just live there, taking their families or dates what have it

I was a diehard Charlotte Hornets fan before any other team in any sport. But I realize not everyone grew up in Charlotte and went to literally hundreds of games over the years. And I don't feel nearly the same connection to the current Hornets. But that's another story.

warriors in 7 is probably the most likely of all the individual outcomes, but im picking cleveland to win the series and betting them at 2:1.

Going with cleveland in 6 because i really don't want them to have to pull off game 7 in oakland

Won't be upset to see curry win another one, I just think 2:1 is extreme. This is close to a tossup
