The Clemson player caught the ball 10 feet away from the basket and literally WALKED TO THE BASKET, without dribbling, then Wood is called for a foul where he clearly got all ball.

It could have something to do with the fact that Howell was injured so he is lacking in experience and game conditioning.
Javi seems to have a lot of difficulties when he is getting pressured by quick guards that are his height or taller. It has been a consistent factor throughout his career. I guess you guys aren't screaming out about how Mays/Degand should never see the court and are clearly inferior players anymore. I think it is starting to show that Lowe knows waaay more about player development than any of the computer coaches on TWW. I am sure he will have a reason if he keeps playing Horner.
OH and the Tracy not playing last year is because he was (and can still be) a defensive liability. He isn't quick enough to play a PF when the PF has an outside game and his height will get him in trouble when he plays C.

It seems that a lot of people on here have forgotten that Howell came in much heavier than expected, and didn't even play the first 5 or 6 games b/c of his knee surgery. It's reallly not that surprising that Horner has been starting at the 4 up until now. Of course, it will be surprising if Horner gets more mins than Howell from hear on out.

The point is you and Ohboyee repeatedly forget that Howell was injured so there weren't to many choices at PF and NO playing Vandenburg is not a smart option. I am guessing you were one of the people who was all over Mays and Degand not showing any development. Yup you sure know more about player development than Lowe .

Last year it was putting Tracy Smith in the starting lineup. This year it was taking Horner out.

The Tracy Smith pro's and con's have been gone over many times and I will paraphrase. Yes he could score points but HE SUCKED on the defensive end. Yes he even sucked worse than Costner on D and he made our game that much easier to defend because he can only score in the post. OH and he SUCKED on the FT line.

Once again, Howell came in overweight to begin with. And he didn't play the first 5 or 6 games b/c of knee surgery. And he's been gettting back in shape ever since. And he's a freshman and has been making freshman mistakes. Horner had some impressive performances, even if they were against inferior talent. Most coaches would be starting a senior over an out-of-shape, recently injured, mistake-prone freshman right now, at least until he gets comfortable. And even then, I wouldn't be surprised to see a senior get the start. I would be surprised to see Horner get more minutes though.

Again, disagree. CJ Williams hasn't gotten worse, he is just, for whatever reason, extremely reluctant to take shots. If he wanted to, he could probably average 10-15 PPG for us, but for whatever reason he seems afraid to take his shot when he's in. He's still a pretty good defender, he's still got that beautiful mid-range jumper, and he's still an above average ball handler for a 2 guard, but he's still not aggressive enough to make a difference.

I'm sure that Lowe is really encouraging him to not use it. Unless he learns to be aggressive Degand is going to continue to eat most of the minutes at the 2, and that might be a good thing - We are a better team with his speed and driving ability.
