Trump totally thought he’d change the latest news cycle by taking out an ISIS leader and show up to the WS series to cheers of adulation. Instead, he was completely humiliated. He and his delusional supporters can spin it all they want by saying that DC is full of liberals, which is true, but outside of his own curated pep rallies, he’s a coward and will probably think twice before attempting something similar again. He knew better than to throw out the first pitch, and even made excuses for it, but he didn’t even consider the fact that his mere presence was going to set the stage the way it did. His initial look of surprise fading into an eventual grimace when the chorus of boos became 100db loud said it all.

What’s more is the fact that he actually thinks foreign policy is the same type of game that’s required for being a “popular” president. He tried to frame the Baghdadi takedown as a one-upper to how Obama took out Bin-Ladin and it was such a dud. SAD!

Man those CapEx numbers are flat abysmal. The tax cut has done NOTHING for fixed business investments. Or more accurately, his badly executed trade negotiations have hurt CapEx (and relatedly overall growth) more than the tax cuts stimulated it.

Manufacturing numbers are going to be real bad in the run up to the election. We’ll see how much was actually “economic anxiety” and how much was pure, old-fashioned racism.

That NYT/Upshot polling is a clear outlier. WaPo/ABC had a poll outlier in the opposite direction with every major Dem candidate outpolling Trump nationally by 10, even Buttigieg. All of the top three by 14 or more.

I’m not saying either of those are wrong (or right) but there is a reason anyone with sense looks at polling averages, especially this far out.
