i ran lake johnson but i went the opposite way than what i normally do (normally i go over the bridge first, do the hills and end it on the flat) but this time i went to the left and did the hills last but i finished in the same time which i was really proud of since i thought it was more uphill going this way than the other way.

my reward: i didnt have to straighten my hair if i completed the run. go me.

ok well after that an hour of 2 on 2 basketball

yesterdays run was so terrible, it like, ruined my day

it's weird

i do really well on my long runs, but the next run always is impossible

we'll see what tomorrow brings

Kind of a lazy few days -- just squats then some combination of shoulders, biceps, and triceps with a some pullups thrown in.

Quinn needs to get his ass healthy again so I have someone to lift with. I can only listen to so many wrestling theme songs before I get bored and leave.

I'm off to see the ladyfriend this weekend. It's her first weekend in Winston in something like a month and a half.

Raincheck? I would like to run it at some point, but (fair warning) I'm a terrible runner.

dear fitness people

why do i get intense calf cramps/pain?

like, all the time

it's was uncomfortable and awkward to walk down the stairs this morning, and i didnt even run yesterday.

Tuesday, during a midweek short run, my calfs cramped up to the point that it was incredibly painful just to take a stride

yesterday, on a non running day, playing kickball was difficult due to cramping from just running the bases.. later on playing basketball it alleviated through the course of the activity

i stretch them a lot, prior to and after all exercise

i eat a ton of potassium

i try to stay hydrated, but i drink a lot of alcohol

but yet, i keep in the 1 - 2 gallons of water/day range 95% of the time

shit sucks b, and is f'n with workouts, runs, and even fun time activities.

maybe it's not really cramping, but that's what it feels like

for reference, im currently doing

M-stretching, sometimes some strength work
T-4mile run
W-2mile run or other activity (usually racquetball or basketball)
H-4mile run, strength
F-stretching/rest
S-1hr activity (something other than running but usually racquetball)
Su-5-6miles run, depending

Do you also drink a lot of soda? You have to intake 2x as much water as alcohol. Limit your alcohol intake to 1-2 times a week.

^^yeah the booze is really the detractor here

moderation for me, is like, excess for others, etc etc

i detest diet sodas, and will drink a regular soda perhaps three times a year.

1 coffee in the morning, 1 green tea in the afternoon is the norm, but balanced out with water

reigning in alcohol consumption is probably the route to take

but what fun is that

just did insanity's cardio recovery CD.
which is basically just a really really short recovery.

wow. it was pretty intense for 30 min

on that note...tonight is my and cody's food tasting for the reception!

(i think we are bringing a computer to keep up with game scores ahahha)

man, i was right there yesterday too^

i manned up though and did upper body, but no running. i ate some tuna and oatmeal to cap off the day. i felt like hell. nova-rage-aids virus or someshit.

quit taking potassium. drinking a lot of water along with a diuretic like alcohol is depleting the other minerals in your body, yet you're over-replenishing the lost potassium. Unless you're also replenishing calcium, sodium, and magnesium in similar fashion, then you're going to experience cramping.

I'd guess you're deficient in magnesium and experiencing a leg cramp that's almost like restless leg syndrome, where your calf feels twitchy and on the verge of cramping but rarely does. If so, eat more foods rich in magnesium.

deciding to try the spinning class

first time ever

it was hill workout. I forgot that if you stop pedaling, you DON'T actually stop pedaling. I have SPD cleats at least so it wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I fucked up.'


Then I got it down. My brother in law is on me about being in a spinning class, but 2 things:

-Its tough
-Hot girls

Plus the gym has a cycle club and tri club so good way to meet those people. Plenty of guys in there.
so yeah STFU

Didnt eat 3500 calories per day for about a week and a half. Lost 6 lbs. Doctor was trying to explain to me what "loss of appetite" means. I had to explain to him : I dont want to eat and I feel like I physically cant. Good news is things seem to have been better today. Went back to the gym and was weak as crap.


I will join you Cass but not until i get back at least 3 of the 6lbs . I can do a 10 min pace (as much as I joke about sucking). You want me to get your boyfriend on the ectomorph bulk seefood diet?
