Ok this is really fucking annoying. Just upgraded to 4.0 and I can see icons on top of other icons and I can see the text behind the text of the app on top. So if the text behind is longer I can see that text with the app on top text. Also when I slide to the next page of apps I can see the apps in the background as the other apps slide by. This is fucking ugly.

So supposedly you can (will be able to?) opt out of the location baesed ads served up by iAd if you visit oo.apple.com from your iPhone. But right now it doesn't look like it's letting anyone opt out.

So if I double tap the home screen and get the popup -- is that supposed to be programs that are "currently running in the background" or apps that have recently been running?

I'm pretty sure there's no Facebook multitasking yet, but it's still showing up on that bottom bar. Same with Mail and Settings.

Meanwhile, my battery life is still terrible. Might be time to go to Apple and see if this handy AppleCare I've got will get me a shiny new battery.

still messing around with folders. don't know if I'll like it in everyday use yet. I'll be jailbreaking it when I can to get tap to unlock and sbsettings, but not too worried about other features as of yet.

Visual Voicemail works fine for me. I'm pretty sure Apple would have a revolt on their hands if they took away that feature. Whoever you're quoting had a bug, or didn't know what they were talking about. VV isn't going away.

The new folders SUCK. I mean the way you create them and add to them is awesome as hell, but that's about the only thing they've got going for them. I can't wait until the jailbreakers figure out a way to change the icon and allow for more than 12 apps to be added. Then they won't be so useless.

No. The first time I went into VM it called VM and said I had no new messages, which I shouldn't have. So I exited out, made the post above. Now when I go into VM it asks for my password, which I cant fucking remember because it's been so long since I entered it.


But I did realize why my apps list was all fucked up.

It changed my wallpaper from what I had to a screen shot of my apps. Thats why it looked like it had apps on top of apps

^wait until you get a new voicemail (or leave yourself one from another phone). then it will tell you that your VM password is incorrect and to re-enter it. visual VM should just magically start working. visual VM works by sending a text to your phone with the URL of the message server (alpsgaacds01.attwireless.net if i remember correctly) - without at least one message to provision everything, it won't work.

Also why the fuck does it show my accounts AND inboxes in my mail? Just show my fucking inboxes like before. I've gone through the settings and can't figure out a way to just show the inboxes.

everything is working great for me except that i was jailbroken before with 5 icon dock, and now the 5th icon's app icon is now missing... the app is still there if i search for it, but there's no more icon...

edit: just fixed it after a search. Settings/reset home screen layout.

i'd have had it sent to my office, but apple required delivery to billing address.

i'm not gonna take a day off from work to stare out the front window praying for a damn phone to arrive.

if i go to the apple store and it's a mess, i go back to work and get an iphone some other time.

Cool, so I jailbroke my 3.1.3 3GS with Spirit (thanks Nacho). What is the upgrade path to the 4.0 Jailbreak? Do you have to install the official iOS4.0 and then jailbreak, or is there a direct upgrade available if you dont want to lose your jailbreak apps? I'm on Windows btw, so not sure if Pwnage tool will work.
