^^yeah, 2 protein shakes a day right now, and oatmeal and grits and refried beans, haha. lots of mushy foods!

it's an adjustable gastric band, so you make it tighter to restrict how much food you can eat at one time as well as how quickly the food passes through to the main part of your stomach, thus helping you lose weight.

it doesn't hurt to get adjusted, not at all. just a needle poke in the belly to insert the saline that tightens the band.

what hurts is when i take a big bite of something or i don't chew it well enough, then it won't fit through the tiny opening and there is discomfort while it tries to fit. it could take a minute or an hour, depending on what it is i ate. but i'm getting pretty good at judging what works and what doesn't. for instance - bread is now officially OUT.

the adjustment is really nothing at all. that port is sutured to the underside of my tummy, about 3 inches above my belly button, 2 inches below my boobs. most times i don't even know it's there!

I love this thing though, without it I wouldn't have lost the weight I have lost and I darn sure wouldn't have kept it off as long as I have. Even though I have to pay attention to what I eat all the time, it's still one of the best things I've ever done for myself (or to myself) and I wouldn't change it for the world.

But giving up Subway sucks donkey balls.

Yes, it's cuz of the bread. Bread swells when you eat it, because it gets wet with all the saliva and stuff. So you can imagine what moist bread is like trying to go through a tiny hole. PAIN. Oh so painful.

Carbonated beverages in general are usually out of the question. All those bubbles make the tiny tummy really bloated and it doesn't feel too good.

I gave up beer for awhile. Lately I've been able to drink it again, but with this last adjustment it's definitely out of the question.

But that's OK cuz liquor is quicker

This is an alcohol vaporizer. They are EXTREMELY potent from what I understand, like I've heard that half a shot vaporized in a 30 minute time period will actually have a solid effect.


Even this thing called the Volcano will supposedly do it! It comes with a small metal "sponge" for vaporizing liquids, although that first device is specifically made to vaporize alcohol and an alcohol specific vaporizer would be the better device if that's all it will be used to vaporize.
