All the good charachters, except for Chloe, are gone & a prequel allows them to bring everyone (Palmer, Bill?, Tony, Edgar) back. The storylines are becoming played out & too over the top. They've went nuclear, so I don't think the terrorists can do anything worse.
Not that I think it will happen this season. I could see them killing Jack off next season & then 2009 being a prequel.

I'm just saying...

The biggest thing that irks me about this season is half of it is devoted to Jack being a dumbass this time. He keeps putting personal shit above the country's greater good, which is the exact opposite of what he did before.

Honestly, I think it was the right way to end a shitty season. What's worse than a shitty season is another shitty season that follows. At least now, Fox can start over with a different Jack and maybe make it a better season.
