There was a funnel cloud in Durham this afternoon (according to witness reports...).
I must find out what this "cold core" funnel business is...

someone find that raleigh water restriction thread. I'm curious as to how much this shit the past few weeks has cleared up the immediate drought (aquifers notwithstanding). 4/27/2008 6:49:38 PM |

Reservoirs are doing well, I think they are waiting for the underground water supply and the stream-flow to pick back up before they nix some of the restrictions. Wouldn't hurt to always have some sore of restrictions in the summer...if it gets to the point that we don't need them...then there isn't really a reason to water your lawn. 4/27/2008 6:53:38 PM |

the water restrictions have nothing to do with groundwater levels. The only water that has restrictions is the stuff you buy from the city, which comes from surface water supplies (Falls Lake for Raleigh). Stream flow in this area primarily just goes up and down with rain.
on a side note, has anyone ever seen it rain hard enough to show up as black on the radar?

Wow still pouring in N. Raleigh. Probably 2" out of this whole thing. I was just saying I think we are still in a Hydrological drought...and they will still be talking about water issues in this area until streamflow and groundwater supplies are up to par.4/27/2008 8:03:46 PM |
