Here's a breakdown of the best Pro-Style Quarterbacks. Notice that the douchebag looking guy that committed to UNC isn't on there. Good info on Glennon and the other QBs. Looks like our QB struggles may end once he gets a year or so into the program.

Quote : | "Mike Glennon 6-6, 194, Centreville (Va.) Westfield
Long and lanky, will need to put on weight as he gets to college. Because of his length, he also has a tendency to have a longer motion, but makes up for it with very good velocity. Also gets his hips into throws, which maximizes his velocity. Needs to smooth out his footwork on drop-backs to get into position to throw sooner. I was impressed with his decision-making ability. It looked from the tapes, that he made a lot of pre-snap reads, showed good anticipation of when his receivers would be open, and delivered "on the money". Verbally committed to NC State." |

Rivals updated their recruiting rankings. We dropped from 18 to 21, probably b/c a couple of teams got some commits.
http://rivals100.rivals.com/teamrank.asp
ACC #4 FSU #5 Miami #16 Clemson #20 Viriginia Tech (imagine if Whitley would have come to the Pack) #21 State #22 Maryland #32 Georgia Tech #34 Virginia (tied with Tennessee currently) #37 Boston College (TOB is already seeing recruiting dividends in his first year away from BC) #45 Wake Forest #51 North Carolina (I guess we'll see if all that junk that Heels fans are spewing about Bitch Davis being a great closer is true or not; keep telling yourself that, the facts speak for themselves, 3 of the Top 100 nationally, Top 2 players in the state, top 2 LBs in the state, and 6 of the Top 30; looks like TOB will be running the state even moreso than the governor ) #59 Duke
We should move up and possibly have a Top 15 class considering we are nowhere close to completing our class and a lot of the schools above us are near completion. 8/17/2007 9:25:17 PM |

Apparently we now lead for in-state OL studs Andrew Wallace (3* OT) and RJ Mattes (4* OT). Wallace's father went to State and he grew up a State fan but UT has been pushing pretty hard. RJ Mattes has been considered a heavy Clemson lean (If I remember it right) for as long as I can remember but looks like things have changed. Its really going to depend on how seasons go for each respective team. 8/19/2007 2:56:40 PM |

Kyle Linney was part of last year's class... he failed to qualify so s doing a stint at Hargrave (that or he may be one of the players not going to Hargrave but hiring a tutor and a personal trainer). Anyways, he really loves NC State and will stay committed for next year even though he could go elsewhere. THey just finally got around to adding him to the commit list for this year.
FYI, for 2007 class he was the #85 ranked DT with 2* and vitals of Ht: 6-2 Wt: 285 40: 5.0

if any of the coaches in the ACC have read Sun Tzu, its O'Brien. 8/20/2007 5:22:44 PM |

^ah yes "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu (or Tzu Sun, since Chinese names are read last name then first). I work for a Ph.D whose last name is Sun and he told me how the Chinese military makes all of their generals and other high ranking officers read it. Many times our own military has officers read that book. Many business classes have it as required reading as well, since the same principles in the book can be applied to the business world as well. I hope Red Tom has read it and uses the principles on the football field and against Bitch Davis on the recruiting trail. 8/20/2007 5:31:43 PM |

Looks like we just landed an OL from Georgia, Zach Allan.
Only one star as of now (hasn't been evaluated) but he was an all-state selection last year, and was MVP of the Nike Camp. So that's encouraging

6'3" 300 lbs and running a 4.98 forty... at 16 he was a Georgia 5A All-State selection and rated #1 at the Nike Camp in Athens. This kid spending 4 years under TOB & Co. has a really good chance of making the NFL. Probably the most under-the-radar player in the 2008 class.

I dont question at ALL TOB's ability to see talent in a kid thats been unrated.
I bet hes prolly a 3-4 star before all is said and done.
I trust in TOB and think its a good pickup from what i have read. Looks like the eventual replacement for Crouch. He does well on pulls and screens where Crouch and most of our linemen lack skills.
