You can't instantly look at someone's baby and know whether or not it belongs to them, grandmother or other. I mean, unless it's a different race or something.

random thought about the babies being born on the island and mother's dying storyline...

do you think that the real world and island time difference has an effect on the pregnancy? Where the pregnancy either takes longer or shorter than the regular 9 months in the real world, causing some sort of complications during birth, killing the mother.

there is NOT a time difference on/off the island.
see: many instances real time communcation between the island/world
also: sayid and des get to the freighter and the calender says it's xmas eve. this lines up exactly with how much time we've seen pass on the island.

if you were listening to faraday, he was saying that there are [distortion fields] around the island that play with time/space in a freaky way if you don't take the exact path through them

There is only time distortion when you are going to/from the island. It's like there is a cloud of distortion around it. Somehow, the speed at which you travel through the cloud affects it though, as the shell from the ship only took 24 mins to get there (when it should have taken 3) whereas the helicopter took like half a day.


And also if the shots that Claire got during her pregnancy prevented her from dying, why did was Juliet still doing research towards it? Obviously they would have solved the problem.

the shots claire got during her pregnancy (from ethan) were some sort of thing that would cause her to be sick...remember this is what happened when juliet came to the crew's side of the island....
she was fine b/c the baby was conceived off the island

I don't think we know this for a fact, do we?

We know Sun had an affair before, and she was really nervous about the baby, and tends to act weirdly towards Jin w.r.t the baby (last episode she referred to it as "MY" baby, prompting Jin to correct her with "OUR baby" and she got that weird "unsure" look about her)

we know that Jin was sterile before the island, so maybe the island fixed that, or maybe not.

Was it ever confirmed with certainty that Jin was definitely the father?

Yes it was confirmed. Juliet looked at the age of the baby in her womb with an ultrasound and determined that it was conceived after they crashed. So unless Sun has been sleeping around with someone else on the island (Probably Hurley, she likes those big dudes), it is Jin's.

The "previously on Lost" bit was neat the first time in the game, but after having to sit through it 5 more I was ready to stab my eyes out.

It would be cool if it did that after you loaded a save file, but it would make me rewatch cutscenes I just saw.
