The lakers are still the favorites. I also think the lakers will probably win it all. Looks like most people still like the lakers and spurs more than the celtics. But the celtics are the favorites in the East.
I think I like the Cavs against the celtics 3/21/2008 12:16:02 PM |

in the east i almost think, as far as what team has a better chance of beating what team:
DET > BOS BOS > CLE CLE > DET
i think detroit has the experience and depth to get by boston, but for some reason detroit can't stop lebron and the cavs...but boston can limit him enough...dunno 3/21/2008 12:36:45 PM |

See I think Detroit is pissed about what lebron did to them last year and with their depth and team defense they might come up with something. But you're right, he's owned them.
The Celtics have great team defense, I just wonder if their length and athleticim is good enough to stop lebron. The cavs can stop them on the other end. Lebron is going to take over this year just like last......until the finals. 3/21/2008 1:41:50 PM |

you think his role changes since they've been somewhat successful without him? More of a distributor? 3/21/2008 1:50:04 PM |

he has said recently you'd see him as more of a pass-first PG than his normal self but his doctors also told him to go 100% for a couple weeks and see how his knee felt
their success without him has been pretty impressive though...especially since caron butler missed a good few weeks himself...they're a solid team but they don't have a legit big so I don't see them getting past the 1st round...unless Arenas DOES come back like the Gilbert of last year and start dropping 40 points on teams 3/21/2008 1:51:45 PM |

I'm just shocked at how much better their defense has worked. I thought they'd have more trouble scoring points with Buter and Arenas MIA 3/22/2008 10:19:09 PM |

I had to bet on Miami as 18 point dogs to Charlotte tonight
Miami is obviously fucking terrible, but Charlotte is not 18 points better than anybody
And they proved it by winning by 12 3/22/2008 10:24:04 PM |

Josh Powell is putting together a good month for a guy that hasn't gotten a lot of playing time before now(with Elton Brand and Chris Kaman injured, you can see why). He's had 7 double-digit scoring nights in March alone including 4 double-doubles. Friday night was his best scoring night as he went 9-14 from the field and scored 21 pts. Hopefully he is showing that he can be a good role-player in the league and hang around and make a career out of it. 3/23/2008 1:04:42 AM |

Suns win 7 in a row. Amare hits 20 out of 20 free throws. Shaq goes for 20 and 13 (playing a lot better than he did for the Heat). They look like they're finally getting comfortable with him...at just the right time. 3/23/2008 9:13:29 AM |

Lakers getting WORKED!
Just an example of how nasty the Western Conference playoffs are going to be this year.
Dirk also went down today. Dallas better hope its not bad or they might miss the playoffs. Honestly, I'd trade Dallas for Denver in the playoffs right now. 3/23/2008 9:43:17 PM |

How funny would it be if the Nets made the playoffs (half a game out of the 8th spot in the East) and Dallas kept sliding and missed the playoffs in the West??
Not like the Nets have any sort of chance in hell of making noise in the playoffs...but it would still be mildly amusing. 3/25/2008 11:06:13 AM |

They were last year too.
In general, NBA basketball is better than NCAA basketball to begin with. People just have stronger ties to college basketball and feel more strongly about it. The average ACC fan would be just as disinterested in a MWC game as an NBA game. But apparently, "the NBA sucks!!" 3/26/2008 12:37:49 PM |

WHAT wOULD BE THE MOST ANTICIPATED NBA FINALS MATCHUP??
i think it would have to be Lakers vs. Cavs
Kobe vs. Lebron 3/26/2008 1:15:51 PM |

Probably Lakers v. Celtics because of their history and the star power (Allen/KG/Pierce vs. Kobe/Gasol).
I'd personally love to see a Suns v. Pistons matchup.
Kobe v. Lebron would be pretty awesome too. Those are the top 3 in my opinion.
But basically any combo that doesn't include San Antonio would be pretty great. 3/26/2008 1:18:46 PM |

that's exactly what I was going to say^ "Any finals that doesn't have the Pistons of Spurs"
It's either Boston vs. Lakers of Lakers vs. Cavs
I think there's a soft spot in the hearts of fans for the Suns too. So any finals involving the Suns would get some attention just not as much as the Lakers 3/26/2008 1:21:21 PM |

Amare had 41, Nash 36 and Shaq 20

45 points in a quarter is just stupid. So is 8-12 from 3 pt land...which Nash was. I think I read an article the other day that said he could be the first player ever to shoot 50-50-90 from the field (FG%, 3pt%, and FT%). He has to shoot like 60% from 3pt land in their final 10 or so games to hit that mark...not a bad start.
Suns are really starting to come together. They could definitely use home court advantage in the first couple rounds if they could somehow pass the Lakers for the division lead. 4/1/2008 11:34:47 AM |
