Well I'm down by 30 with TO and the Eagles D/ST, haha, talk about a conflict of interest, haha. Every point TO gets is bad for my D, haha. Need a few TO TD's and a few defensive TD's, haha.

I'm down by one point and my kicker is out due to the game being postponed! Waiver wire only allows pickups on thursday and sat. So basically I'm screwed!

In a cutthroat league, I can steal either Rodgers or Turner. I have Manning but he has an early bye so I may keep Rodgers and I'm pretty stacked at RB right now. Who is better now for trade bait - Rodgers or Turner? I could use a top tier WR. 1 QB and 2 RB league.

So has Garcia lost the starting job? And is he worth holding onto? The only available starting QB is O'Sullivan, haha, who actually had 300+ yards yesterday.

Dallas Clark apparently has a partially torn MCL and might not be ready for Jacksonville next week...should I drop Rashard Mendenhall and pick up another TE? Mendenhall hasn't done shit this year

I'm thinking maybe John Carlson of the Seahawks...has 130 yards receiving in 2 games this year (4 for 52, 6 for 78 in weeks 1 and 2 respectively) and the Seahawks host the Rams this weekend

haha in the exact same boat- i'm probably going to play it week by week on the TE front, but i think mendenhall is dead weight

sidenote: i see sproles is available in my league- is he worth grabbing?

I dropped Rosario for Sproles this morning and went ahead and let Mendenhall go

Sproles had 300+ all purpose yards yesterday...if LT is still kinda banged up Sproles could get some touches...if LT gets hurt, Sproles could be a great play...I needed to boost my RB depth as Justin Fargas is out "indefinitely" with what "looks like a seriously pulled groin"

Might not be the worst decision; the 9ers do play the Lions in SF this week.

[Edited on September 15, 2008 at 7:37 PM. Reason : and they play the rams 2x]

Housh and Palmer have been killin me. Im tryin to hold faith but its hard. my back QB is Bulger so that aint better. My only shining light is I can finally start Steve Smith opposite hines Ward next week.

Someone is offering me Rivers for Steve Smith too since I need a QB so bad.

im debating what i should do with my team. i suck at RB.

It's a 14 team keeper league (keep 0-4 players), here's what I have currently:
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 DST, 1 K

QB: Drew Brees
RB: Willis McGahee
RB: DeAngelo Williams
WR: Santonio Holmes
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Jerricho Cotchery
DST: Buccaneers
K: John Kasay

Bench
Kurt Warner
Ray Rice
Tim Hightower
Rashard Mendenhall
David Patten
Bills DST

(i started hightower instead of mcgahee this week, for obvious reasons)

i think i need help at RB, but i think i have one of the best WR corps (if not the best) in the league and don't really want to lessen that only to become average at RB. i'm thinking about possibly working out a deal involving kurt warner to get a decent RB. i could potentially trade warner + an rb for earnest graham + jason campbell (or any crappy player i can then drop and pick up a qb with). should i try to pursue something like this, or would it be better for me to play musical RB's every week and keep my security at QB in case brees goes down or something?

thanks

This guy with a 1 point lead in my league was smart and say the cowboys defense.

Just as long as westbrook doesn't make a 70 yard TD, i'm safe.

Although SD pass defense sucks too, I just think they will turn it around after blowing two games.

Vincent Jackson is also available. I'm looking for someone I can leave on my roster for a while as a backup. Not just a one game fix.

[Edited on September 16, 2008 at 9:08 AM. Reason : Would you take Jackson over Bruce or Stuckey?]

probably not. unless someone gets hurt, jackson is easily the 5th option on the chargers O behind LT, Gates, Chambers, and Sproles.

I'd still probably take bruce. They are in the NFC west and they have a pretty weak schedule.

Favre spreads the ball around and i'd bet stuckey will be less consistent.

Koren Robinson might be back

Quote :
"RENTON – At a time when the Seattle Seahawks’ hopes for a home-field playoff advantage are buried under an 0-2 reality, desperate measures may mean they will turn to Koren Robinson.

The Seahawks considered signing their former bad-boy receiver last week before signing Billy McMullen and Samie Parker, though Parker was later released.

Then came injuries Sunday to Logan Payne and Seneca Wallace.

Now, according to published reports, Robinson could be signed as soon as today.

The Seahawks’ top draft pick in 2001, he had three productive seasons with the Seahawks, then a blighted 2004 that included a four-game suspension for substance abuse. He was released that offseason and has since played for Minnesota, making the 2006 Pro Bowl, and Green Bay.

Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell has been loathe to sign players with character issues, but quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said he thinks Robinson has cleaned up his life.

“I don’t know about the football side of it at all. I haven’t seen him play in a long time,” Hasselbeck said. “But I guess what I care about more is that he grew up and really matured and got his life turned around in the right direction.

“I saw him this offseason. He’s married, has a child, has another one on the way, so I’m really happy for him. I’m proud of him.”

The Seahawks learned Monday that Payne tore the medial collateral ligament in his right knee and is lost for the season. Wallace, who was being asked to play split end because nobody else was available, pulled his calf muscle in warm-ups and is out for three to four weeks.

Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren on Monday spoke of desperate times calling for desperate measures, and Robinson would certainly qualify on that count.

“Believe me, we’ll explore every option we can,” Holmgren said. “This is a little bit unusual. “We’ve got to figure out a way to win one.”

Because the Seahawks need almost immediate help at wide receiver, Holmgren ideally would like to acquire a player who already is familiar with the system, perhaps through a trade.

Other players who fit that description include D.J. Hackett and Darrell Jackson, neither of whom Ruskell is likely to pursue, and Arizona’s Jerheme Urban. Cleveland’s Joe Jurevicius is not eligible to play until after game six.

Regardless, Holmgren wants a stopgap for the upcoming St. Louis Rams game, after which he thinks he will get back Bobby Engram and perhaps Deion Branch – the source of Holmgren’s confidence that the season is not lost despite the disastrous start.

“I hope that we can replenish the roster here in not too long a time,” Holmgren said. “That in and of itself doesn’t guarantee anything, but at least we have some of our guys back. Yesterday, offensively, even though we were depleted, I thought we had a chance to win the football game, even saying all this stuff.”

Holmgren did not want to address one obvious issue, which is that the Seahawks’ past indicates that home-field advantage is their best opportunity for a lengthy stay in the playoffs.

After the 0-2 start – matching the San Diego Chargers, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cleveland Browns, all teams with lofty aspirations and off to difficult starts – the Seahawks have to win 11 or 12 of their final 14 games to get home-field advantage through the playoffs – as they have spoken of doing.

“I think it’s way too early to start doing the math,” Holmgren said. “There’s too many unpredictable things that happen in this business, not the least of which is injury. We happen to be injured right now, but it could happen anywhere, at any time, to anybody, on any team, and then all of a sudden the math goes out the window. We’ll just keep taking ’em … one at a time and see what happens.”

Don’t forget, last season’s New York Giants started 0-2 before reversing their fortunes and winning the Super Bowl.

The difference between those teams and the current Seahawks is that those teams are not down to their seventh, eighth and ninth wide receivers and desperately looking for help.

Defensive end Patrick Kerney said the weight room was packed for the first lifting session at 10 a.m. Monday, with players eager to get back to work.

“We are 0-2, that is the biggest issue,” Kerney said. “You are going to lose guys throughout a season, but you better be able to adapt. That is part of the game.

“We have to be more consistent. We have to shore it up on the practice field. And there is only one medicine for it: Hard work. That is the only way I’ve ever known.”

Staff writer Eric D. Williams contributed to this report.

how do you guys feel about transactional fees?

this is the first year our group has done it, and i see the kitty adding up to a nice sum

our current rules are (the commish is a retard)

$2/drop to waivers
$2/pick up
$2/player in trade (both ways)
$free to drop a player to IR (but $2 to pick up someone to replace)

for a 12 person league at $200/person, the transactions alone are adding up nicely.

HOWEVER i dont really like how it's kinda fucking up the desire of people to trade.

but i do like when the penny pinchers dont want to pick up someone off waivers, it'll cut your field you have to snipe against

unfortunately there's a $16 cap for how much you can owe before being locked out of transactions... there were a few projected deadbeats

have to clear up my QB situation. I have Marc Bulger and Matt Hasselback starting with Pennington and Tarvaris on the bench. Looking to trade for either Kurt Warner or Jason Campbell.

Which one should I go for?

And who should I package with DeSean Jackson... Matt Forte or J. Stewart?

Current Starters:
RB: Brian Westbrook and Willie Parker
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Santonio Holmes, and Brandon Marshall

Want to know the biggest fuckup of my fantasy football career? Dropping Cutler before week 1 for Warner, then having an owner who hasn't touched his team since that day pick him up. I've offered him trades to get him back (he has Favre as his starter, and is a huge fan so I'm hoping he will trade Cutler back).

Oh - and then playing Cassel over Warner this weekend, thus costing me the week. I'm normally a pretty smart fantasy player. Off to a good start this year

Well considering if I still had Cutler I would've started him this week, and won the week easily. And Cutler has far greater upside for the rest of the season then Warner.

I would agree for his career he has a bigger upside, but for this season Warner could easily have just as good of a season...not saying he will but it wouldn't be a huge shock.

I mean, my team is not in too bad of a shape. My team so far is looking like one of the better ones, but having Cutler over Warner would've probably made me the team to beat.

i lost both matchups this week, so i'm now 1-1 in each league

cant complain though...Braylon will eventually get his shit together, and I won't have to face Cutler, Marshall, McFadden, Chambers, Santana every week when they each get 20+ points

Cutler has been a monster lately...

and what the fuck should I do with Larry Johnson? I've got Willie Parker, Jonathan Stewart, Chris Johnson, and Edge, with 2 RB and 1 flex spot to fill. do I try to get something for LJ now, or maybe hope he has a good week and then try to trade him?

I think you have to start anyone involved in Denvers passing game til they get stopped. And I would keep LJ on the bench, try to deal him if you can. And I would start all but Edge.
