like he said the horse collar tackling rule wasn't in place yet, but also iirc on that play Willie kind of came from the side a little bit (like half behind and half from the side if that makes any sense), and wasn't completely pulling him down from behind. the picture doesn't really paint the whole picture. I think the UVA player was trying to turn the corner, and Willie reeled him in and took him down before he could get away.
Willie should act like he's fishing and reeling when he makes a big sack/tackle to end the opposing teams series. There was a piece on him during the Carolina game last year that was also seen on the TOB show where he talked about fishing. Just do it on the sidelines or as he's leaving the field so that we don't get an unsportsmanlike penalty.

ok, so fuck YouTube.
I just wasted 3 hours of my life making a video to get hyped for the season, and when i try to upload on YouTube, it tells me that it cant play the damn soundtrack for it. so now its a worthless slideshow w/ no f'n soundtrack.
Help!?! where can i upload the video so i can link it to TWW, OR, who can i give the video to so that they can embed it somehow?
Here is the video, but you need to play Saliva - "Ladies and Gentlemen" with it.

Rivals is having a countdown for the top 100 college players for the 2009 season.
I would be interested in who people think should make the list from NC State and where they should rank.
My shoe-in picks are R. Wilson (top 20?), W. Young (top 50?), and N. Irving (top 50?) Outside shots are Baker, Eugene, Spencer, Graham
Discuss... 5/31/2009 7:18:22 PM |

I think Wilson might be the only one on there and maybe in the 50-75 range. If you look at rivals power rankings for qbs, he's starting the season ~13, one higher than God's second son Jimmy Clausen. 6/1/2009 2:05:02 PM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
Willie Young will make that list. Some publications had him going 2-3rd round last year in the draft, now they're seeing him even higher with a solid senior year, so I really doubt he doesn't make the top 100. Nate Irving has a solid chance, and I'd say R. Wilson has a decent chance, just depends on what positions they put emphasis on, because Clausen is 95 and I'd say he's better than him, so who knows.

O'Brien wary of preseason picks
Quote : | "
Tom O'Brien has a live chat scheduled for 4 p.m. today on gopack.com.
The Wolfpack football coach will no doubt be asked about the increased expectations for Year 3. Some yahoo already picked State to win the Atlantic Division, which O'Brien found amusing.
"If you guys knew what the heck you were doing, you would be doing something else," O'Brien said. "As I told the team, nobody picked Boston College last year."
The Eagles, picked to finish fourth in the division by the media, repeated as division champs in '08. O'Brien, who coached at BC from 1996 to 2006, recruited the bulk of the players on the BC roster that won the division in '07 and '08.
O'Brien told his current team that he doesn't think they're as good as the team he left in Boston College.
"It doesn't mean we can't be that good," O'Brien said. "Today, we're not that good, let's see if we can get to be that good. That's the challenge."
One aspect working in O'Brien's favor — State doesn't play an ACC game until October. Given the way O'Brien's first two teams started — 1-5 and 2-5 — a four-game prep for the conference schedule can only help. " |

TOB also just missed the cut in Southern Pigskin's ACC/SEC coaches ranking:
Quote : | "Watch Out For - Tom O'Brien, NC State - Got the Wolfpack into the postseason last year and, with quarterback Russell Wilson entering his sophomore season, has the future look bright for NC State." |

Quote : | "N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien doesn't know how long Russell Wilson, who continues to split time between football and baseball, will be his quarterback.
Wilson, who was taken in the 41st round of the Major League Baseball draft out of high school, is eligible for the baseball draft again in 2010. That could mean just one more season of college football, even with three years of eligibility remaining.
“He likes to play baseball, and his future may be in baseball, so we have to do what's best for him,” O'Brien said. “You try to make long-range plans, but you never know what's going to happen.”
O'Brien has been unusually vocal this offseason about Mike Glennon's chances for playing time, despite the return of Wilson, the best quarterback in the ACC.
You can bet O'Brien will get Glennon meaningful reps this season and prepare him for Wilson's eventual exit.
Ideally, Wilson stays two more seasons, which would get them through the 2010 football season, and O'Brien would have a seasoned Glennon, who redshirted last season, to run the program through 2012.
As for Wilson's immediate future, he is set to play baseball for Gastonia in the Coastal Plain League before joining the Wolfpack's offseason workouts in early July." |

from The Wolfpacker (Rivals equivalent of Pack Pride):
Quote : | "North Carolina State football coach Tom O'Brien took some time Monday to answer questions during an online chat on the school's website, GoPack.com.
Among the highlights from the chat:
• When discussing the quarterback situation, O'Brien said it's good to have both sophomore Russell Wilson and redshirt freshman Mike Glennon on the team.
"Many coaches have been reluctant to play two quarterbacks, but I've always been on the mindset that you want to get your backup in a football game early in the year. You don't want to get in the ninth, 10th, 11th game with your backup never having seen action. Certainly if Russell is the starter, and he's the odds-on favorite now, we will certainly look to get Mike Glennon playing time through the first month of the season so that he's prepared so that, should we lose Russell, he can step in and handle the duties at quarterback."
• O'Brien noted that the staff does not plan on signing a kicker before redshirt junior Josh Czajkowski's eligibility is up.
• O'Brien said there could be as many as eight to 10 redshirt freshmen on the two-deep roster this fall.
• Redshirt junior Javon Walker has not been cleared for the strength and conditioning program yet, but he is possible to return to field during camp in August. O'Brien did note that junior receiver Donald Bowens is the only person who might not be back for the start of fall camp, saying he could be returning from a knee injury in September or October.
• O'Brien complimented senior punter Jeff Ruiz for his work in the spring, and he said that there should be a spirited battle with incoming freshman Chris Ward to be the punter.
• O'Brien also complimented redshirt sophomore Audie Cole when asked who could replace Robbie Leonard at strongside linebacker.
• O'Brien also made a pitch for an indoor practice facility:
"That would be on my wish list for what we should do next for our program. The importance of an indoor facility is evident in those early morning workouts in January and February before the sun comes up and there is frost on the practice fields while we are running and trying to get faster and better. Under those conditions, an injury is always a major concern. During summer camp, the constant threat of thunderstorms causes us to lose time standing under the overhang limits our preparation. And as we prepare for bowl games, sometimes we get days in December here that would cost us practice time. An indoor facility would help in our preparation to become the best football team in the ACC."" |

Id like to see Weaver get more playing time then he did last year, btu basically any tight end who can open up big holes for our running game or pick up 6 or 7 yards when we need it on a crucial third down.
Id like to see them all get playing time, but yeah I want to see what Weaver brings to the table. 6/5/2009 12:11:53 PM |
