I've been in Greensboro for the last week and I must say I kinda dig it. Reminds me of Durham.

Places I've drank: Green St., Corner Bar, Stumble Stilskin. All pretty decent places to have a pint.
Places I've eaten: Pho Viet Huong-pretty tasty curry and noodle bowls. Stix and Stones-delicious pizza. Carolina Delicatessen-I got the "Rachel" best sandwich I've had in a while. Boba House for vegetarian.

Places I've eaten that sucked: China Garden on Spring Garden-gross chinese food, avoid at all cost. Brown Gardiner drug store-the place was packed I have no idea why, I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Fries were soggy not crispy, burger was laughable and tasted like something you pick up in your grocers freezer to nuke at home. Sweet tea was the only redeeming thing to that place.

Where's the place to see some decent live bands?

Rearn Thai on Market has some good Thai food. Fincastle's is a fun place to grab a burger if you get a chance. Chef Jack's on Battleground has a mustard based BBQ plate if you're not a Stamey's fan. The Country BBQ on Wendover, right beside Christie's Stip Club, has a great pork tenderloin biscuit for breakfast. If you're drunk Jan's House on Market at 3 in the morning is great. For all you can eat pancakes Tex and Shirley's on Wednesday is good for $3.

I do like Stix and Stones! The Bestway beside it has some interesting selections of beer. If you need to do laundry the Suds and Duds is right there so you can drink and wash clothes at the same time. Across the street from the chines place on Spring Garden is a nice little pizzeria that has some good beer.

About music, pick up a Rhino Times or Yes Weekly (weekly newspapers that comes out on Thursdays). They usually have a listing of what music is where.

Thanks for the heads up. I think Suds and Duds is an awesome idea, on some nights they have some bands play. I'll check out Jan's. I have yet to try Stamey's but probably will in the next week.

there is a carwash on the corner of Aycock and High Point Rd (or maybe it is Lee St. down that far). Looks pretty ghetto, but give it a shot!

I ended up going to the "coliseum car wash" on Florida near the public library. It did the trick. So as far as hair cuts....great clips and Gene's near UNCG?

Western Greensboro is pretty vague, but that's definitely the better side of town. As long as you're west of Summit/Morrow and north of Lee, things are mostly okay. But a lot of the neighborhoods around UNCG (university area?) are pretty crappy. East of campus towards downtown (College Hill) has some cool old houses and nice new condos, but quickly fades to ghetto.

Rape Tunnel is just a place where bitches hang out by the creek, getting raped 'n shit.
