maybe i'm the idiot, but i don't see how losing to a mediocre Duke team (you can't deny Duke's improvement over the past few years) at home is worse than losing to Akron at home. now don't put words in my mouth, because i didn't enjoy either loss and i'm just as disappointed as the next guy about today's result.

I wonder if we even have a practice time for special teams. It's bad enough that even I can outpunt our punter and our kickoff guy can't get it past the 10, but do we really have to fuck up something as simple as calling fair catch and not letting a live ball bounce into our own players? one huge mistake was not running the ball when we got it with 4:40 left in the half and running it for the rest of the game.

we were gashing them and we kept trying to be cute. in the second half, we stopped completing passes and got behind on downs, leading to zero offense.

what kind of dumbass coaches dont run the ball if you are gashing them everytime???

Coached both Peyton and Eli Manning as well as Brady Quinn and Erik Ainge and now has made Thad Lewis, whom two years ago nobody would have known arguably the best in the ACC.

Bottom line: With our freshmen and walk-on secondary, what did you expect? We all pointed out that was the weakness from Day 1 and now you are criticizing O'Brien for it?

Nothing short of an epic fail. I'm still a state fan. I wouldn't be a state fan in the first place if this type of upset would sway my resolve. We will prove to the ACC and the nation that we are a good football team. Russell Wilson played well, a few receivers dropped passes right in their hands. Some really pathetic defense on our part allowed Duke to play a great game. Keep in mind, these guys did excellent versus the #5 team in the country. A sleeping giant so to speak flying under the radar. Don't give up on the season, these types of games should motivate our team, we've hit rock bottom now. Time to bounce back.

But i'm still in a "the season is over" funk. I can't think of a more embarrassing loss that I've EVER witnessed dating back to the Mike O'cain era. Even when FSU put up 77 on us it wasn't as bad. At least they were a top 5 team.

I'm more of a Duke fan than an NC State fan, but still, watching both teams it was a "wtf" game.

The defense on both teams didn't really show up (except for a few good plays here and there). The special teams was, well....."special."

Other than that, not a bad game.
