Good news for those who don't have DVR and have to work 8 to 5. I just heard on the MLS broadcast that ESPN3 will be showing 55 of the games and you will be able to watch them whenever you want. THat is how sporting events have always been on ESPN3, but it is good to know that 55 games will be broadcast on there. 5/20/2010 9:06:46 PM |

ESPN3 is provider or subscription-based. I get it free through Verizon, but if your provider doesn't pay for it you can purchase a subscription yourself (not ideal, but at least it's accessible). In the past, most of the games on ESPN3 are on an ABC/ESPN regional broadcast or a regional syndicate like Raycom, so if you are in Raleigh you generally won't need it. This makes it far easier to get games for those of us out of the area, though. 5/21/2010 6:10:32 AM |

I've used this torrent site for soccer videos in the past. I haven't been on in a while but you get ratio credit just for having torrents seeded, not actual uploads... so I have a pretty baller ratio set-up to get as many WC games as I need. I've never actually downloaded a game from there but during Euro '08, they had every game up quick with a pretty decent amount of seeds 5/21/2010 3:57:50 PM |

England's defense is sloppy, Green looks like the only one doing anything. The two goals they have scored have been luck at most. Mexico is playing a lot better than England. England needs to pick it up if they want to do any good in the World Cup. 5/24/2010 4:00:14 PM |

England (4-4-2) Green; Johnson, Ferdinand, King, Baines; Walcott, Carrick, Milner, Gerrard; Crouch, Rooney. Subs: Hart, James, Carragher, Dawson, Upson, Warnock, Lennon, Parker, Huddlestone, Wright-Phillips, Adam Johnson, Heskey, Defoe.
Who will drastically improve their lineup besides the Chelsea trio (and I'd rather see Terry than King, despite today's performance) The subs available today aren't miles better than the starters except for maybe Lennon over Walcott.5/24/2010 9:37:33 PM |
JTMONEYNCSU All American 24529 Posts user info edit post |

...that's why I said other than them
3 players will completely transform their team? (2 of which are defenders, and 1 of them I don't think should be a first choice CB anyways) 5/24/2010 9:44:06 PM |
JTMONEYNCSU All American 24529 Posts user info edit post |
terry is miles ahead of ledley king and actually has knees to stand on. i hate the guy but hes everything you want in a center back. lampard is one of the greatest scoring center mids of all time. ashley cole is probably 3 times better than leighton baines.
that midfield is still up in the air. i think walcott is better off the bench than starting. milner will prob start. does anyone know if barry made the team or not? i can see him starting over carrick. i dont even know how carrick made this team, he has been garbage for united this year. it looks as though capello is gonna go with rooney and crouch up top. but i wont be surprised to see rooney not do shit this world cup. hes not gonna be match fit and every nations defenders are gonna be hounding him every game...i hate to say it but i could see crouch winning the golden boot if england make it to the semis 5/24/2010 9:51:44 PM |

nah, Roon-dogg'll be fine.
he got that commercial, remember?
Also, Crouch's goal was poached off of a Rooney rebound.
AFAIK Barry is still in the squad - Capello hasn't trimmed it to 23 men yet. He's got until June 1st, and I don't see him doing it a day before that, either.
And England played the counter attack today, and they did it well. Mexico are a bad team. They have great buildup play, but absolutely no finishing ever. 5/24/2010 10:01:19 PM |

I just don't think Rio/Terry is the best possible pairing in defense.
And I'm not saying England sucks but today's lineup wasn't all that drastically different from what they'll have on June 12th. It's like if we had played Mexico without Gooch/Boca/Bradley but with Dempsey, Donovan, and everybody else... certainly missing a few pieces but not all that much different.
I mean, it all depends on the match-ups past the group stage but I just don't see England getting past the quarters. They'll definitely be a lot for us to handle because we just don't match up well with their outside speed but I don't think they'll be blowing teams out of the way. 5/24/2010 10:17:33 PM |
