it all depends on the qb we have. being in the sec would give us a better shot at signing a big time qb who wants to get exposure against the best defenses for nfl scouts. in a year like last year, we would've beat most of the sec east teams due to qb play. Whichever team gets the great qb has a chance to win in the sec. Even ole miss.

Also, home and road is going to be much more crucial in the sec.

Wait, are there really people that thing Obama isn't going to win in 2012? That's the funniest shit I've heard all day.

It has to do with their new cash cow network. If they goto the Pac-12/16 basically they would have to split the profits with everyone. The ACC pricing structure would allow them to keep their money. Their 3rd option being going independent in football.

On the one hand that would be huge for the ACC

On the other hand I don't want it to happen at all, unless it means we can dump Boston College.

Adding Texas to the ACC would be awesome for the conference, but is a pipe dream. Texas should just go independent and rake in $texas with their TV money.

Anyone else think it's hilarious that Texas and the Longhorn Network/ESPN are going to be what ruin the Big12? Their refusal to participate in revenue sharing (which is exactly what I would expect from Texas as both a university and as a state) is going to bite them hard. Meanwhile, the SEC, BIG10, and PAC 12 have revenue sharing and are the most successful conferences in the country. Every other school in the Big 12 saw what was up and got off the bus, and UT is gonna be standing on the corner with their dick in the wind.

And I would hate for them to join the ACC. If you think we have it rough now with UNC getting all the goodies, just think how bad it would be if Texas joined. ACC needs some revenue re-structuring if it wants to remain stable

i think it'd be funny for texas to deprive unc of stuff

espn "breaking" headline: texas wants to keep big12 together, oklahoma wants out

i don't know why anyone would want to add texas when they just single handedly killed a solid conference.

^I don't think they're as spoiled as some here believe, but a lot of people think they get away with more in the name of being the "flagship university of the ACC." The point I was trying to make is similar to ^^, which is to say that Texas's greed killed their conference, so I wouldn't want them doing the same to the ACC.

I'm sure UT is really worried about being left out in the cold Outside of Texas A&M which was just jealous of UT and Oklahoma who actually has some clout, the rest of the Big 12 teams will do whatever they can to just stay in a major conference.

Villanova/Georgetown will have to join up with all of the non-football schools. Syracuse was actually supposed to get Virginia Tech's slot before the Virginia politicians leaned on UVA (who ended up casting the swing vote with Duke and UNC voting no).

if they take another big east school, id guess UConn over WVU, all I hear is how WVU isn't academically adequate, but I don't know anything about their academic rep.

Fuck it. Expansion is about the money, not the academics. WVU football >>>>> than UConn football dollar wise (and on the field for the most part too). Could you imagine an ACC championship game of UConn vs BC....in Miami?
