I lost 2 games last year (keeping me from the playoffs) in a fractional league where I would have won had he done the fractional points
unrelated: we had our first "son of a whore" game this year in our league... both teams way underperformed, but the team that won did so by only .07 of a pt (58.48 - 58.41)... if Best had gotten one more carry, the losing team would have won 9/14/2010 10:34:44 AM |

RYAN GRANT OUT FOR THE SEASON
Quote : | "Jay Glazer of FoxSports tweets that Ryan Grant is out for the remainder of the season due to ankle and leg injuries.
Huge blow for the Packers and fantasy owners. Brandon Jackson takes on the bell-cow back role for the Packers and is a must-add in all formats. He's also worth starting consideration this week as the Packers play at home against the Bills." |

looking for opinions on next week's D/ST:
got the 49ers D/ST and the cardinals D/ST currently...
want to keep 49ers a bit longer to see if sunday was a fluke, but they're playing NO next week, so i'm thinking i should sit them out regardless.
think it's worth swapping cardinals for chiefs/broncos/giants/seahawks? 9/14/2010 3:48:59 PM |

Yes. Swap the Giants for the Cardinals.
Their LB core is going to be solid this year and should have a good amount of sacks.

Ok, got another one, Lloyd or N. Washington? I'm not convinced Ten. is a passing team quite yet, and Lloyd look like Orton's #1 on Sunday. 9/14/2010 4:02:50 PM |
V0LC0M All American 21263 Posts user info edit post |
Well, again, he is one of those players that got lucky and had 1 big play that resulted in the majority of his yards. What Orton showed is that he likes to spread the ball around so there is no guarantee that he will get more catches than Royal (who had 98 yards), and Gaffney (who was the only 1 to have a TD).
If I had to make a decision today, I'd probably go with Washington because Britt looks like garbage so far this year.

More News....
Quote : | "According to Sports Illustrated's Will Carroll, Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb "did not pass initial testing on Monday regarding his concussion." NFL policy dictates that a player that has sustained a concussion cannot practice until he has had five symptom-free days.
That means, of course the very earliest Kolb could return to practice would be Saturday. Michael Vick will start at quarterback for the Eagles in Week 2. " |
He'll be in for a treat against the Lions.
Quote : | "With Ryan Grant done for the season with a severe ankle injury, Brandon Jackson is now the Packers' feature running back.
Filling in for Grant last Sunday, he took the rock 18 times for 63 yards. For his career, he has averaged 3.9 yards per carry on 175 attempts. Whether you are a Grant owner or in need of another running back, he is an absolute must add in all formats, and worthy of overbidding on. " |
and for further proof that Grant is done...
Quote : | "According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers are set to sign Falcons practice squad running back Dimitri Nance.
With Ryan Grant done for the season, he could go from being a practice squad runner to an NFL number two overnight. Technically, both Brandon Jackson and fullback John Kuhn will be ahead of him on the Packers' depth chart, but he should serve as Jackson's back-up as soon as he gets up to speed in Green Bay. That makes him worth an immediate speculative add in deeper leagues." |

LOL @ Taking Greene in the 1st round.
Quote : | "Manish Mehta tweets that Jets coach Rex Ryan indicated that LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene will share carries going forward. Ryan says that he would like for both backs to get 15 carries apiece on a per game basis moving forward.
Tomlinson looked vastly better than Greene last night and Greene also coughed up two fumbles. LT's value clearly gets a boost here and is a must-have in PPR leagues. In 12-team traditional formats, he is a likely upgrade to many RB4's on many fantasy rosters." |

Yeah, he didn't fumble, but I'm not sure making like 2009 Chargers LdT and running into the middle of the line for no gain again and again qualifies as "vastly better".

My comment had nothing to do with his situations and everything to do with the fact that the Chargers coaching staff lost the playoff game last year because they refused to stop handing it to tomlinson after he ran into the middle of the line for no gain again and again. Last night he picked right back up where he left off with 15 carries for a whopping 38 yards thereby making him definitely not "vastly better" than greene in any other sense besides getting a hotsauce enema might be "vastly better" than getting dropkicked in the nuts. 9/14/2010 4:38:34 PM |

Need to go after a receiver. Our waiver wire is a bidding process. Never done this before. I have $5,000 to spend this season.
These guys are available: Naanee, Collie, Mark Clayton, Mike Williams (Seattle)
I'm thinking definitely Collie. But who between the other three should I go after also?

I actually think Naanee has more upside than Collie. Naanee has the potential to become a #1 receiver with his size and is in a pass happy offense. Collie is 3rd or 4th on the depth chart and again, was one of those receivers that had 1 play for 70+ yards that gave him the majority of his yards. I really dont think he will be consistent enough to start. Naanee on the other hand seemed to be Philip's favorite behind Gates and has excellent hands.
Crabtree isnt overrated so much as he is on a team that blows for passing offense. I would give Crabtree another week to bounce back before losing total faith. If you have to make a change right now, Nate Washington should become the #1 receiver on TN. Britt is terrible right now.
B. Jackson definitely is the #1 pickup this week. From the looks of your RB core, you need him pretty bad.

The bad news is that I owned Ryan Grant
The good news is that I am #1 in the waiver order, so Brandon Jackson is mine.
I gotta wonder if they pull a Samkon Gado, however, and go with that Dimitri Nance character as their workhorse and keep Brandon Jackson as a 3rd down back.

I'm in a crazy keeper league that starts 23 players...(IDP etc).
I can start up to 3 QBs (2 QB, 1 QB/RB/WR slot).
This team was autodrafted and I assumed ownership later... so I'm stuck with:
Derek Anderson Alex Smith Josh Freeman Matt Moore
I'm weak at WR too (Ward, Crabtree, Sims-Walker, B.Edwards)... and am being offered Dwayne Bowe for Alex Smith or Josh Freeman.
Is it worth it to trade away one of my 3 (potentially) starting QBs for Dwayne? I have no idea if Moore will become serviceable. The fact that its a keeper league is making me hesitant. There are no starting QBs in FA. Full of IDK here... 9/15/2010 6:45:11 AM |
