I don't think Sid should have pulled Harrow, but dammit he wasn't the one out there missing bunnies all over the place in the 1st half. At one point we were shooting like 22% with most of those shots being fucking layups.

I too wonder why people think Javi is a great defender. He gets the occassional steal every now and then, but 75% of the time he plays 8 feet away from his man and looks so lazy. I can't wait for his eligibility to be up.

Lowe actually ran a couple of good plays coming out of time outs, this game.


Brown got abused, and leslie let his man get open 3s and inbounds layups. They are definitely running offense better.

He is too aggressive on D and when shit doesn't work, his guy is wide open. That, or he just watches the play going on and forgets to guard his man.

Who else is gonna guard Jackson? Harrow???? Brown can't guard him all day. Javi is the 2nd best option, as bad as that sounds.

We lost because BC made three 3s in a row down the stretch. Yeah our defense should have been tighter on those possessions, but rarely is a team going to knock down three straight at the end of the game. Hopefully the team will learn that they have to keep the intensity up for 30 minutes. We had these assholes, but oh well just the first in what will be at least three consecutive losses.

Javi and Harrow are both horrible on defense

At least Harrow might learn something and is young. He also gives a scoring threat Javi's been playing the ole' defense for 4 years now and he can't penetrate to save his life. Put in Harrow

I honestly think the defense between Javi and Harrow isn't that much different. Javi has never understood that his player is allowed to move without teh ball

The bottom line is that in the 1st half if the players could hit a damn layup like they were taught to do as kids, then we would have won the game. These are 4 and 5 star players. It's not Lowe's job to teach them the basics like layups. That's on the players. His job is to call and design plays for them to get open and point blank looks. He did his job, the players didn't do what they are supposed to do.

^^^ I don't think so. I mean, you can be taught defense.

With that said, I have never seen a Lowe coached team that excelled on defense, so I don't know how much defensive teaching is going on....but a freshman is expected to be bad at defense

We were pretty good at defense at the end of last year. We had a bunch of games where we held our opponents under 60 points.

God, not with the "well if we would have just hit x, y, or z shots, we would have won!!" already.

We took a ton of terrible shots early on. Then once shots started falling, we go back to running our slow ass sets at fucking practice speed. Am I seriously the only one who sees this? I think if I go back and watch the game, I probably wouldn't find more than 5 screens that slowed the D. All the defender has to do is actually run instead of jog around the screen, and they've met back up with him on the other side. Then no one took any of the few mismatches that showed up. Instead, more standing around.

Bottom line is that it's just more NC State shit.
